And 130ish bpt at break-even looks pretty nice, as well.

Is Bureaucracy that important when you already have 20 cities?

It's worth 22 commerce per turn pre-multipliers and a few hammers. Also, I can use the "spread irrigation" throughout the empire. Was it worth the turn of anarchy? Hm. Not sure.

Well, after a fairly blunder-filled game, and now being behind in tech as well with the loss of Lib (nicely played), I'm conceding the game to Krill. There's no question he'd win, the question is "by how much". And that's not worth burning all of our evenings over the next month or so over.

Blunders:
1) Not expanding efficiently enough, allowing Krill to claim about 70% of the map
2) Weird use of a GSci, that may/may not have hurt so far, but was going to long-term
3) Not expanding efficiently enough (gotta mention it twice)
4) Blowing Lib by being stupid. I was about 50 beakers shy, and Krill's going to steal Lib right from under my nose.

Interesting read. I think the main problem you had was where you planted your cities, no overlap (as you said in chat). Iran the risk in the early game of planting 3 cities with only flood plains for food, and didn't farm them, instead cottaging to get as much gold as possible, and then dared to use my second city as a pure hammer city to just push out all of the settlers that I needed. If I had to pick on thing that won me the game, I'd say it was settling BB where I did. If I hadn't, I don't think I would have had the workers or settlers to go and steal your front doorstep.
