Fine by me. jive

Biggest problem with Kurio's is that our 2nd civ choice is much harder. Hippus go with them so well we could be missing a lot of potentially better civs still available. Worry about that later though. wink

EDIT: In fact we should probably pick Hippus regardless (assuming they dont get chosen in the meantime), given how every team seems to be focusing on something different chances are we'll still have plenty of good choices when we get to the 3rd pick. Plus Hippus/Kurios rock. band

Amelia, if your ok with Kurios (which I assume you are but just checking to make sure), could you pick them when you read this?

Done. Our next pick will be Hippus...

And now we go to the next question. Tasunke or Rhoanna?

That is a very good question. I say Tasunke. Raiders is a pretty sweet trait to have with fast-moving units.

Well, Cardith can already make settlers for the team, so Rhoanna's expansive trait would mostly go to waste. Financial's been nerfed, but would still be pretty useful in this setting: once you can trade gold, Rhoanna could run 0% science while Cardith runs 100%, say.

I'd say go with Tasunke, but only if you're going to use him reasonably early for rushing/choking.

Also, if Falamar and/or Flauros are not taken before the next pick, you might want to consider them instead of the Hippus. The Hippus synergize well with the Kuriotates tech-wise. But the Lanun synergize with anyone: all they need is fishing to start making coastal sites awesome (that's committing to more of a building game). You could also forget centaurs and just figure Cardith as economic backbone/quick settlers for the team, and rely on another civ to provide the awesome military units (like vampires).

Easily Tasunke, Cardith can handle most of our economy needs all by himself. Hippus Raiders on the other hand are very dangerous at any stage, and he can run 0% to support Cardith/the other civ teching.

With only Conquest and Domination allowed, I think Lanun aren't a great choice for us with no good military of their own. Vamps (or even the Malakim) are much harder to dismiss though. Still I think the synergy between Kurio's and Hippus is worth picking Hippus next regardless. Given the way the snakepick has gone so far, we'll probably get another awesome civ for 3rd choice as well.

I actually strongly feel we can get at least Lanun for our third pick, maybe even Vamps.

Really guys...We just secured ourselves FIVE super-cities. I think we'll do fine in this game.

I agree with above sentiments actually, I think that Tasunke should be our next choice. Shall we go ahead and pick them as soon as T2 has picked their two choices?

Agree 100%. We don't need any more economy, what we need is military (although if they have both then win-win). Lanun don't have lategame power, Vamps would be pretty sweet for 3rd choice though (still prefer we take Tasunke next).
