Oh good, in addition to the game being no fun because we can't win, its also no fun because we can't settle any cities before Currency on our Small/Monarch/Toroid. Maybe I'll try that wandering the starting settler thing...

Team Gaspar - how PBEM47 was lost and where it got us.

Jesus, can't we just have a large/cylindrical/Noble setting map?
“The wind went mute and the trees in the forest stood still. It was time for the last tale.”
WTF. This point system sucks. Why the hell aren't we getting a normal game here? Commodore just jacked it all up again.
STOP BEING CUTE!

Way to go. Not only are you getting a Commodore map, you are getting a Commodore map on MONARCH. Hahahahaha.
Civilization IV: 21 (Bismarck of Mali), 29 (Mao Zedong of Babylon), 38 (Isabella of China), 45 (Victoria of Sumeria), PB12 (Darius of Sumeria), 56 (Hammurabi of Sumeria), PB16 (Bismarck of Mali), 78 (Augustus of Byzantium), PB56 (Willem of China)
Hearthstone: ArenaDrafts Profile No longer playing Hearthstone.

To those of us in the lurker thread helping get things going, the consensus was you wanted second tier leaders (Gaspar's words, and Hannibal certainly counts as second-tier I'd say) and several people asked for a points system. Then you all changed your minds and got upset. Suggestion for Gaspar: be really specific on what you actually want, because at this point I don't think anyone really knows. You're probably in a position where you can get whatever you want in terms of settings and people will go with it, but it's a mystery to everyone what most of those settings are until you have to complain about settings other people end up deciding on. Hopefully this is constructive - not trying to be a jerk.
We just want to be Pacal of India while everybody else gets second tier traits. Is that too much to ask for?
If you know what I mean.

Problem is I was sort of trying to take in what zak and Lewwyn had suggested, also Noble calling me a wimp on gmail every 41.3 seconds, plus me wondering how I ended up here. Bunch of decent guys the rest of them are, for dealing with that. (December 21st, 2012, 12:38)zakalwe Wrote: We just want to be Pacal of India while everybody else gets second tier traits. Posting this here for discussion's sake:
Plains hill sheep is a pretty terrible tile, its a shame because all things equal I could talk myself into moving SW for the river, clearly FP south as well.
Well, comms going to have to redo the map no?
I would say SIP anyway. Can't go wrong with 3F cap on the sugar and a 4 yield ivory on forest in first ring. Plus then the rice is irrigated and you've a good amount of forests.
