Anyone here familiar enough with the mod and following able to summarize what's happening? Besides apparently very decent start out of Harram.

Just need to say this here after reading a few threads:
I really didn't put as much effort into this map as I should have, but because of RL reasons I don't feel guilty. I think the map is too cramped, ther should be more water but the amount of land kept constant. Perhaps there should be a lower lux density, I wouldn't disagree with that comment at all. Pretty much the entire map design came from a 90 minute walk and another 90 minutes of sitting at the PC and rabidly filling in a single section of map so I could turn the PC off and grab a drink with friends.
This really should be a shit map and if it isn't you got lucky rathert than any skill on my part.

I'm confused, is the first post in the tech thread wrong? It says real offers only, and the stuff about city trades is crossed out. If its right what did jowy do wrong?

Oh, you missed a sadistic-admin trick Krill - make Jowy keep the city, ruining his tech rate and forbid gifting it back so GJ has to recapture a size smaller. Hey presto, you've punished both and no-one ever comes to you for a ruling again.
Edit: and the map wins purely for putting the joeys next to each other, no matter if you think you screwed it up...

Lest I be taken the wrong way, clearly Jowy has the right to ruin anyone else's game however he wishes; TBS isn't exactly a newbie, he knew what he was getting into when he okayed the roster. But the rational/emotional analysis Jowy posted is about as tunnel vision as it gets.

- Rational: He gives into my demand and gives over the Size 1 city for peace. He moves on and remains one of the favorites to win this game despite the small setback.
- Emotional: He'd rather fight me for the rest of the game than give in to any demand, even if it ends up costing him so much more.
Or, in other words
Kipling Wrote:"We invaded you last night--we are quite prepared to fight,
Unless you pay us cash to go away."
And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
And the people who ask it explain
That you've only to pay 'em the Dane-geld
And then you'll get rid of the Dane!

Been there, done that. Nice to see Jowy's progressing.

We keep warring: We both lose the game.
We sign white peace: I lose the game, you are still in it.
We sign peace and I get compensation: We are both still in it. (though me only barely even if I got compensation)
If you want a good laugh read a few more posts lower at exactly the types of trade offers that Jowy continuously made towards AT in that game. It was hilarious.
Can't wait to read TBS' reaction to the in-coming peace offers.
