[Spoiler]PB44 Lurker Thread: Nostalgia Edition

Epiphany: Tilted Axis gives them exactly what they want and isn't the worst mapscript I've ever seen. Medium sea level even gives them around 1105-120 land tiles/player.

Also, the Pangaea map script is actually from civ 3 according to Sirian, it was never updated. Tilted Axis was new for civ 4.

Someone check this out please.

I think this is reasonable. All the strat resources haven't been checked, but I reckon it's playable for every start.

Can take a look soonish if no one else has time. What kind of imput would you like to get, just an opinion if one can win from every start ( how bad start is ok, 5% chance to win?).

Check for strat resources, check for playability (ie is there a second city that can be settled for food) please.

I had a very quick look. It's definitely not balanced, but everyone can play the game I guess (unlike the previous map).

You may want to do something about Mali's iron -- it's located in a very bad spot with no food resources. I think that area (Mali start) is weak enough to allow yourself to add a deer tile on one of the forests near the iron.

edit: so I'd either move the iron to the grassland river or add a deer tile if you think the start has too little food. A lot of river, but very little food (and barbarian hordes will arrive, but not much to do about that without huge changes).

Babylon's start is bonkers. Lots of land, few neighbours (and the 2 neighbours have some of the less good starts). In the maps current state I'm fairly sure Babylon will win if it's played by someone competent. Multiple great city spots, starting with clam+3x floods+gold+river hills.

I think everyone has a chance to win, but Babylon and Egypt have more space to share. I checked for horses, copper and iron, did not think about other strat resources.

Mali and Rome share 1 iron, best to give both some other source I think. Rome needs also copper (has one but it's close to border area with Mali so choke is a real fear here).

Arabia could have horses closer (and could use some love if you have time to spend)

India, could use iron closer by.

Otherwise civs should have those 3 strat resources easily attainable, but please double check that I did not miss anything important.

Otherwise did not try to balance starts out, it's random so they are unbalanced.
