I'm exhausted and I think I might be coming down with something, so no big report tonight, I'm sorry. I am really glad you are enjoying it, I'll try to catch up on any missed turns when I can. I have, I think, a very fun little scheme cooking in the back of my mind. For now, Miilitary advisor.

There's something very funky happening with the map part of it, I don't know what's causing that and it's quite annoying.

I passed 200 tanks just before I started spamming Wealth everywhere. Did you have any specific questions about it?

The other cool event was that Mig tried to land some paratroopers on a Piccadilly island that we killed, getting us a Great General. Next one takes 360 experience, which is just absurd.

Yes: 200! What the heck? :D

Impressive numbers over all!
Also noticed those black bars on the mini map and thought you're doing some strange art of recon.

Don't push yourself too hard with those reports, best wishes for your family.

T250 - Amicalola Is Cracking Under The Pressure

My personal life is going through some rough stuff at the moment, so for this turn you also don't get much of a report, I'm sorry. I am probably biased right now, but I feel like when I open the turns I just have no idea what to do anymore. There's hundreds and hundreds of units to move, queues to plan, tiles to work... and that doesn't even include executing any kind of bigger picture plan. I could speedrun these turns and they'd still take 3-4 hours, at this point. Proper reports soon™, when I'm up to it. Hopefully Mig is entertaining you from the other side.

I dunno what to do. This is the closest I've come to victory in this game, and I should be really excited. And I am, to a point. But the turns are so overwhelming, I'd honestly be comfortable conceding to Mig at this point just to have it end. Which even I can see is ridiculous considering the amazing route it took to get here. Maybe I'll feel better about it in a few days, or something.

Is this the part in Crusader Kings where your tyrannical character reaches critical levels of stress brought on by his rule?

Hope you feel better  alright

Actually, I really don't think I can do this game justice at the moment (by which I mean the next week or two at least, maybe longer). I wouldn't necessarily wish these turns upon my worst enemy (they're ok for me, but only because I have the backstory), but if a lurker wants to take over for a while that could theoretically work. A lengthy pause might work, but that seems silly.

If I play these turns at the moment, I'll either exacerbate my IRL-stuff even more, or I'll rush everything, do terribly, and it will have all been for nothing. Neither of those is very appealing, and 'both' is probably more likely. I think this game is in a winning position, but one that requires a shitload of micro/macro and a fairly specific plan I would be able to hand to someone (or maybe one day I'll even explain it in the thread rolleye). I really don't know what to do.

The more I think about concession, the more appealing it is. I could see if Mig wants a mutual agreement, but that just feels petty and he's under no obligation to take it. Maybe just Mig 1st, Amica 2nd, is the best option? Are there any other players that would need to be consulted?

If the game makes you so unhapy offer a draw to Miguelito and if he doenst accept well then just concede, i think the other will be happy to be in game when it ends.

Is what i would do anyway your mental health is way more then our wish to see actualy an end here.

The most city i had in game was near 80 and even then was a burden to open the game, so I totaly understand you.Great game , very impresive, perhaps the most impresive game i seen at RB  toast  .

RL comes first, always.

That said, I would suggest publicly, as a lurker, the suggestion of a 3 week hiatus then return with a turn a week schedule.

Unfortunately, I know furst hand the training you are doing and the course tutors suggest nothing less than total dedication. Even an evening in the pub a week was too much.

I think, realistically, you are right to acknowledge you need to step away.

I appreciate the thoughts, from both of you. And cheers Mackoti, that means a lot especially coming from you. I'm going to sit on it for a couple of hours, but right now I'm leaning towards sending Miguelito this:

Quote:Hi Mig,
I've had some pretty bad personal stuff come up in the last week, and especially the last couple of days. I can't justify PB59 turns right now, and I don't think I'll be able to for a while. I had a vague idea of passing my civ off to a lurker, but really that seems unlikely (and understandably, no one has volunteered).

I wanted to ask you how you would feel about a mutually-agreed draw for the game. My personal view, obviously sans information, is that we're about 50/50 (or at least, I can't tell who's favoured from here), in a vacuum where we each have infinite time for the turns. But you may feel differently, and obviously you aren't obligated to agree to a draw just because I need to back out - maybe you even feel that the game is a battle of wills at this point. But for me, the alternative is probably concession, unless some foolhardy lurker steps up. I am comfortable taking 2nd in such a big game, if need be. Let me know what you think.

Cheers,
Amicalola.

As i stated in discord... id be down to take over if you want. (would make a new record for # of civs controlled by 1 person throughout a pb) IMO, a draw would be the way id go if i were you.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."
