Should we ask someone to step in as a substitute admin? I'm sure someone else can flip a coin think long and hard to determine who's right

The problem is that no one is right. There's a clear double move and the obvious solution would have been to reload prior to that player's second move and have everyone play on from there. But for truly unknown reasons...the game went right on and the player who was double moved against didn't pause the game for the problem to be worked out. I really don't think we can reload now, or that we even should. Too many people have played a second turn, we can't realistically expect everyone will be able to play the same way twice, especially since the second turn will surely give relevant information to many of you that would likely influence how you'd like to replay the first reloaded turn. (Yeah I know, everyone is supposed to replay the turns the same way, and most people do or would. But I'm not betting the farm on it here because I'm the unlucky sot who was rooked into being your admin for this game and I'm not dealing with those potential problems).
Anyway, I need some more specific information from the players involved (or just the offended player if the other doesn't want to cooperate) before I set a resolution. And in the event the offending player doesn't choose to abide the ruling you guys can recruit another game admin. Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
I have PM'd an order to the players involved. If they abide it, everyone will finish this turn and the game moves on. If they don't, you guys will need to recruit another admin.
NOTE: Please be aware that any further double move incidents will be abusively administered, irrespective of who is the offending party. I'm really tired of these disputes. They're not fun and we play this game for fun. Guys, you're all out of warnings. Further penalties will be absolutely ghastly and completely arbitrary, so just don't double move ever, OK? Pay attention to your war splits. Well that was a third option and not at all necessary. Are you going to drop out of a game over a deleted unit? If I'm the problem better that you guys get someone else to put out your fires than for a player to quit, but it's up to you.

I hope you'll keep playing Azza, both for our sake and yours. On that note, I think we're in dire need of a separate discussion thread about turn pace and double move rules, similar to what they did in PB18. There are too many conflicting notions about how to go about things, we need them sorted. As I said, I know I was confused about expectations and norms previously and I'm certain I'm not the only one.
Guys, war splits are not a new thing. We use them in every game here because that's just the best way we've found to make wars work in PB. Yeah, it means turns are going to take longer since everyone in war have their play window changed into 12 hours instead of the more manageable 24. We could extend the turn timer to get rid of pauses, but because of real life, turns are always going to take longer in PB's when there are wars going on. Azza, I know you said that no combat moves were made, but it's not really your choice to make. You play a PB here, you gotta follow the rules.
Xenu you have my full support on this. (May 7th, 2014, 23:11)spacetyrantxenu Wrote: Well that was a third option and not at all necessary. Are you going to drop out of a game over a deleted unit? The double moves were accidentally made because I'd already lost interest in the game. Just want to get the turns out of the way as quickly as possible, and this is not helping at all. It's making me irrationally annoyed, and I don't think I should continue playing. |
