[No players] Big epic lurking - PB74

So I take back my previous statement for Pin Mig specifically because they are fighting over the remains of the same player, which I hadn't fully recognized before. So while not directly at war, it is part of the overall war turn order.

Since Krill and I agree and that rarely happens unless someone jumps in in 10 minutes here is what I purpose writing in both threads.

"In this instance while you two are not at direct war you are at war with the same player, in close proximity, and for the same territory and therefore part of the larger war turn order. In this case that would mean Pin plays first".

Agreed. Esp. since Miguelito earlier requested that Donovan and Magic Science maintained their respective turn order while both at war with him.

Also agreed.

Just for the record, if they had both originally been on the same side of the turn order with GKC I think they should have rolled for turn order as they came into close quarters (since rolling won their vote). But since Mig was originally after GKC I think here its pretty clear.

I know a lot of times we have situations arise where two people are dividing someone so thought I would post that clarification. Now if they had voted for "when the race becomes apparent", in a dividing someone situation that is a lot less clear when both trying to take over same person and honestly I would still be up for rolling. Doesn't happen much though somehow.

So Pindicator and Mig/Ginger are about to scrap over fifth place, Gav is pinned back by Piccadilly, Tarkeel/Civac have pissed off Commodore for the last time, superdeath is trying to hide in a corner, Plemo is waiting for death with the best looking empire I've ever seen, and no one can stop Commodore with Darius building the Kremlin economy to out do all Kremlin economies.

Game looks decidedly interesting again.

I agree with Gav again here. I don't understand Commodore deviating from Combustion line just to get slightly better tech to upgrade his units (and put himself farther from combustion) to do a conquest that can probably wait. Just push the tech advantage and then kremlin whip good units Commodore.

Scientific Method is needed for oil, so what has he done beyond that? The run to Mil Trad and Communism? Kremlin alone makes FS work which is going to be reaching 100bpt plus the culture

Communism makes sense, but Mil Trad opens up Plemo, which relieves the northern pressure of Vikings. It feels arguable, because it also gives Commodore more ports to two pop whip destroyers out of.

Commodore Wrote:In two turns I'm landing a Blitzkrieg Great Artist, and I have a Great Merchant banked. Physics hands over a Great Scientist, so for the Final Fourth Golden Age I have the more difficult task of generating a Not Caste GP. War at Sea is going to bang out a pair of temples as the easy +2 priests, but that's still a long haul to 900GPP with just a base-13 rate. A cathedral might speed things up a little but I'll need more temples in that case. Tricky.

Could this perhaps be a use case for the Intelligence Agency? Having already researched Communism, 180h is cheaper than temples + cathedral, and are spies that much worse than priests? smile

I love the communism play especially as it got him both Kremlin and 3rd GA. I just hate going military tradition and then upgrade units. He doesn't need a conquest right now. He needs to make his seas safe so sprinting to combustion vs slow roundabout delay for unit upgrades route to combustion. Destroyers will also make him safe from Plemo. Kremlin and existing ports are already more than enough to secure the seas vs Gav. Sure more ports are good, but only if he can still make it to combustion in time. His only saving grace is Gav being somewhat tied down with Piccadilly.
