Yeah but it needed shock last turn to kill the sword, and only got c2 this turn...
Perhaps I should give everyone an explanation about this. Right now Elum is winning and will win unless someone gets lots of land soon. My goal for the rest of the game was therefore to get back into the main pack (maybe some border wars against Agent and Dreylin for like 3 or 4 cities), end up ~4th by the time we concede (IMO achievable, as of before the war) and have fun. Remember 10 turns ago ? I didn't want to go after Agent's island cities because that would offer no strategic advantage. It still doesn't. I agree with 10-turns-ago myself that it's pointless. But I now have pretty much no hope. I won't win a war against the guy at the top of the power graph. I most likely won't get back from last place unless Dreylin or Grimace get slaughtered by Elum, or if I successfully take down Dreylin myself, but I can't do that while 3 quarters of my army are in the east. So I'm going to do the only thing that I can still do : make Agent pay. I will play my part in lowering his chances of winning the game, the other three contenders have been reasonably friendly since the beginning (as friendly as you could expect let's say) so I don't really care who wins. I want him to see that if he's going to attack a neighbor he has to have no weakness. Maybe he's ready for my troops and I wont be able to take Django, but if he really has nothing else to defend his islands then he deserves what's coming.
BTW construction is due next turn, I'll get some cats ready to beat up his stack if he goes north towards Maserus.

He reinforced Django but he'll need more than that next turn, 3 axes and a wounded praet will have good chances against an axe/impi pair.

As general Levitus was watching from his flagship the mighty city of Django, news arrived from the capital. The senate was discussing the peace treaty proposed by the Zulu envoys : white peace and therefore concession of the recently conquered territory. Caius Marcus Levitus, first admiral of the Roman navy and former governor of Mthonjanenim burst in anger.
-Have they no shame ? I have fled my city like a thief, I will not have peace with these barbarians from the east ! I will teach them what it means to defy the Roman Empire, even if the senate cannot. Prepare the attack !
-Sir, the peace...
-I will have no peace until the capture of Mthonjanenim is avenged. We attack tonight.
-Would it not be safer to land safely north of the city and attack from land ?
-I will not give them the time to muster more troops, time is on their side.
-Which troops should we send first admiral ?
-The mighty Praetorians are trained for such a raid, they will most useful now
-They are heavily wounded from the battle of the green fields, when they outed Zulu men from the vicinity of Mthonjanenim.
-They will do their duty.
-It was a slaughter admiral, if the enemy had any casualty I did not notice them. We should retreat now and regroup with the rest of the army near Maserus
-NEVER ! Send the men !
The next wave was far more successful, the men guarding Django's walls prevailed but almost all of them were dead. The Roman troops were about to enter the city when new men appeared on the battlements, armed with spears and apparently trained as a mobile force to be used in the field. Yet the city defenses were important and they seemed resolute enough to hold back the Roman advance.
-Admiral Levitus, our forces may not have the strength to defeat these men and then hunt down the survivors from our last attack.
-I will talk to the men, advisor Lemina, and they WILL attack.
-Men of Mthonjanenim, now is the time to climb the walls of the city and prove your worth ! Look how they fear us, how uncomfortable they are guarding the walls, they are more used to fighting horsemen in the field. Use that to your advantage ! The Zulu have insulted us for too long, and you will show them what it means to see your city sacked ! These men over there are of the same kind as those who captured our beloved city, let that force drive you through the combat, and take the battlements !
-Admiral what a victory the men have achieved, more than half of them remain !
-Is the city ours ?
-Not yet, some scattered Zulu men are still inside but we control the battlements
-Send the last cohort in the city to wipe them out, we enter the city tonight.
-Admiral, the city is ours and we have found the local governor's treasury.
-Good, have it sent to the capital immediately.
-What should we do with this city ? Will we remain there and regroup ? The senate might use it to negociate the return of Mthonjanenim and Kwamashum.
-The senate is too weak and feeble minded to do such a thing, they will not accept an exchange in the peace deal. They think only in terms of victories and defeats and will not accept a complex peace treaty. Burn the city to the ground. Then we will pillage the countryside.

I'm going to pillage the fish and the crabs, plus the mines and pasture.
BTW tech is set on meditation->priesthood->monarchy then I'll head to machinery->feudalism->guilds (maybe getting archery and HR in the process for flexibility in unit builds). Who needs economy anyway.

Good writeup...just a note, Guilds is pretty moot without HBR.
Could we get a Roman overview?

Yes, I meant HBR when I said HR. HAs will be useful if he doesn't put more impis in his stacks.
I would, but TBS has entered the game twice already (he's Agent's mentor) so it will have to wait until tomorrow.
