Not soon enough. I originally intended to work 2 scientists for the entire duration of the GA (it would have almost produced one before the end), then it would have been working 2 merchants and a scientist for 25 turns and get 67% at a GM for the golden age, which was a bad idea. But now the capital GS will be out 14 turns after the end of the GA. I think I'll have to use Moai city + HR to grow it sufficiently and work two merchants and an engineer or something like that, which is a much better plan. So, 20t after the current one finishes ? 25 ?

Last turn of GA. Too bad. Catapults are everywhere, I'll have 6 on the battlefield in 2t, and have 4 being built in cities. I hope it's enough.
Non GA demos aren't so bad now, due to Grimace losing some cities to Whosit.
![]() Plan for Agent : when my cats are ready I'll send a chariot to look at what's in the city. If I think I have a chance I attack, if not I propose peace. I'm starting to pump HAs.
ipecac declared war, captured 3 workers and sank a galley (empty thankfully).
![]() ![]() One of them he captured with a chariot (event log says that) but I see no sign of it anymore, he probably saw the spear in the city next to it and decided to suicide it. Power graph is flat so I don't think it's more than an opportunistic shot. I proposed 10t of peace, in 10t I'll have dealt with Agent one way or another (making peace and letting him have the cities is one of the possible ways, if he's got enough units in there), and maybe I'll finally have the time and units to deal with them properly.
The great library is still up for grabs, which annoys me. I've decided to take a militaristic approach to the whole thing which is probably for the best. I may lose but I have so little experience in MP wars that I take this as a test.
Here's the stack. IDK what's in Agent's city. Next turn I send a chariot 2S, if I think I can take the city I give it a try, if not I offer peace, move that stack to the ipecac/dreylin border and stomp them. ![]() I've been mismanaging my empire a lot this game but this time I'm getting the timing right. Thanks to prechops I'm getting a 1t granary followed by a 2t barrack (because I have to move the workers to the forest tiles). The city is actually working the wet corn 1N2W. Maybe there's a better option than a barrack, like a library ? But I don't see what a library will do for me, this is going to be a production center. So barrack. ![]() I'm not sure if I should stay on my machinery->guilds path actually. I like machinery for crossbows to put in the coastal cities near vikings, but then the clever move could be CoL for caste in the next GA (not coming right away but still) and/or TGL->music. Globe in Moai city is appealing but I'm not sure it's that good of an idea. Each pop you draft is one less pop to use as a specialist.
Nice stack! Bear in mind that he's already seen it though, so if he can't counter he'll probably have retreated already.
Globe in Moai would be good just to grow as huge as possible, but getting enough theaters to build it is always a bit expensive. Except if you have border culture wars to win... I'd probably stick with the military direction.

I should have roaded the forest tile 1W but all my workers were busy... TGL is tempting me : I want more GP for GAs. But guilds would be fun too
It's happening !
![]() Next turn I have a choice to make, either using the cats to take down the defenses (from 50% to 18) then either wait for a turn or attack with the other units, or attacking against the 50% and deal with it. I'm leaning on the second option because he's got units on the CH front that could come reinforce, already he moved up two axes and a sword from the south (the gold city is defended by just a sword now). Plus I'm getting machinery next turn. Yay !
It looks like if you bombard to 18% your CR2 Praets should get 70% odds on Shock Axes, then a Shock Praet gets 60% on the last Shock Axe, after which you'll have a load of 75% battles. I prefer 90% odds battles normally, so I'd be tempted to wait. But I guess we'd need to see the power graphs to know how many more units he can bring in if you wait and how far you can push into his land with this stack
![]() Either way, simming it to see what's likely to leave you with the most living units would be very handy...

The most important part is that even though he's first in soldier points he needs to keep lots of soldiers near CH. Their cold war is still on (at least partially) and I think that if I clean his stack I can get CH to declare war on the other side. Tomorrow I'll look at what promos he took (he has some available) then sim once or twice and decide. Sending 8 catapults should deal quite a lot of collateral if I decide to use that route.
