Yeah, but they could pillage the newly neutral tiles after losing cities. Not that they're likely to do that.

Had a long chat with WPC ingame (read it from bottom and up):
I think it went pretty well, and that I got Beta to understand that Warendorf is more important than Wesselburen, that we have to keep the pressure and tempo up, that the German cities will only be tougher to break for each passing turn, and that you have to accept that the defender will get the first shot.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width
That is excellent work.
 Now the Germans will be forced to defend either Warendorf or their capital, not both. They will probably still send most of their forces to the south against us, but they'll have to keep at least part of their army in the north, or WPC will be able to start taking cities. I'm still baffled that WPC seems to think that capturing a size 3 tundra city has equal value to a city sitting in a floodplains river valley. 
No movement from WPC as of this post.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.
