Miscellaneous stuff that occurs to me:
* I remembered to check out the cost of pacifism vs not when I revolted to caste. It was still 1gpt cheaper. So switching to pac was a good move. You can tell (to a good approximation) how much pac will cost by hovering over unit cost, looking at the cost for military units, and multiplying by the unit multiplier for your difficulty setting. On prince it's 0.6 - you pay 0.6g per unit past a certain amount in general, and if you are running pac you also pay another 0.6g per "military" unit past a (different) certain amount. So it said "cost for X military units" and I multiplied X by 0.6 to get the increased gpt cost from pac.
* Popping a ton of borders with artists.
* Got another free spread of taoism into a minor city.
* Have OB with everyone we've met except Kuro. 1.5 players worth are extra. With 17 cities we are getting 34c extra by having foreign routes over just using island routes.
* Decided to start building the MoM in Men at Arms, even though it will take a really long time and could easily be beaten to it. Basically, I've observed that wonders are not being built in a reasonable timeframe here. Lack of stone/marble + duel environment + fairly low hammer land seems to be discouraging it quite a bit. So for example, it's past t100 and no one has built the GLH on a map where 90% of your contacts are on other continents. That's just nuts. I can't build it of course because my coastal production is abysmal. But MaA has decent (potential) production from mines and I don't want to spend it on military right now, so a wonder it is. And the two options available to me are HG and MoM, and the former is both easier for anyone to build and doesn't give failgold for the first quarter of it. And of course MoM is better. Also, I believe that the other players who are doing well will want to trigger their first golden age before they could reasonably complete MoM unless they really planned for it, and I have doubts that they planned for it given that there are technically several industrious leaders in the game, the fact that they are not building many wonders notwithstanding. So I think the chance is there and I also want to do what I can to deny it to whoever eventually builds taj. I think I can afford the spare production to do that.
