[LURKERS] Sweet 16: Civ Party Fun Time and Philosophical Debate

That's what I mean. You can have 2v1 in a no-diplo game, but I think more than that is unlikely.

Sure, I totally agree. So many factors have to work a certain way that, out of about 50-ish no diplo games run on RB, I think it has only happened once (and in that particular game the leader brought it on themselves by declaring war on all of their neighbors anyway). Like I said, you basically need a bunch of people to be A: planning to attack the leader, B: planning to attack at the same time (or at least pile on in short notice), and C: be talented enough to make the attack successful when it happens, all without external encouragement or coordination.

Er, whoops, meant to post that in the other thread. Oh well.

PB9? IIRC it was 2metra, Commodore and Bigger against leader Cornflakes.

I think those comments are fair game, and the latter is could definitely be an incorrect opinion on my part. Rooting for you to do something different so that the game can be more entertaining for me to watch is what lurkers do.

I think that's pretty different from accusing you of throwing the game or being a poor sport, and I don't think you did either. If there's something worse that I said in here that I'm forgetting, I'm happy to answer for that too.

In fairness, I saw red around the second time someone made the inference that I'm only interested in destroying other peoples games, so I may have attributed something to you that you didn't say. I'd reread the thread to find precisely what it was that set me off, but I don't want to see red again.

Anyway, I'll assume I misunderstood and apologize for including you as a rant-target.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I think that game had semi-diplomacy though.

Yeah. A system we should bring back, since it seems that every game people WANT to have an option to ask someone to declare war on X.

well, kind of. there was ai-diplomacy, + the missing parts of ai diplo in single player through the chat bar. so 2metra bribed me to go to war, and I assumed he bribed commodore too (and I extorted a bribe from commodore as well, hehe). but we couldn't strategize or coordinate plans, or make an argument for the war. really that dogpile happenned because 2metra was wiliing to put his neck out there and just hope others joined in later. that's the reason dogpiles don't happen much in non-diplo games, most aren't willing to take that risk. he did the same thing against me later in the game, but I didn't have a border w/ commodore and cornflakes never joined in, so it failed.

I liked it as well, but I think we're in the authority.
