Okay, maybe not. PP is 2880 beakers according to the spreadsheet, and we have 165+ pop. Let's say we bulb at 170 pop, that would be 2010 beakers. 800 beakers would likely take two turns of burn.

Even with pre-req and known civ bonuses?

The spreadsheet's not right. The game says we have 281 turns to PP at 8 bpt, which is 2248 beakers remaining. So the bulb should definitely let us finish it one turn.

Sorry, I take that back. The spreadsheet is right. We make 8 bpt base, but we also have an over a 1.2x multiplier. 281 * 10 = 2810 beakers.

Currently we make 715 beakers at 100% science and make 8 beakers at 0%. We already have 75 beakers invested in the tech. We may need to spend 1 turn at 10% science but can work that out in 3 turns time.

Nice catch. I confirmed that behavior with a quick worldbuilder test. Place 4 cities in a diamond shape so the center tile is not in culture but is surrounded by it. End turn, and the tile comes into culture. Put a barbarian unit next to one city. End turn again, letting the barb capture the city. There was a noticeable visual lag between the destruction of the city and the center tile coming out of culture, indicating that it didn't process right away but only after some more turn processing.
I said on the livestream we should attack Weil der Stadt first

Is that 715 beakers listed (at the top left) or after multipliers?

I missed the livestream yet again, but watching it after the fact is still awesome.
As always, hindsight is 20/20. Do we know if the bugged culture will clear next turn?
Since we took a Buddhist city, I assume the plan is to keep all the cities we take from here on out?
The German war is winding down, sure, and I love the econ builds as much as anybody, but are we sure that we're all set for troops for the German war?
I mean, I think we have to pretty much assume WPC isn't going to kill anything for the entire rest of the war, and we just lost 9 maces this turn to 4 longbows. Granted, we just dislodged the last of the hill cities, so maybe the cleanup will be less bloody for us, but I think we're going to have to kill a ton of junk at some point, because the Germans keep retreating the bulk of their stuff each turn.
Do we have enough, or do we need to draft our northern cities again and keep building knights out of horsefeathers and brick by brick for a few turns yet?

Of course we are going to lose units, attacking hilled-cities defended by longbows. Remember we only bombed the capital down to 20% culture, and didn't bombard Weil der Stadt at all. Drafted maces are the ultimate cannon fodder. They have no use after this war, aside from serving as military police. I wouldn't belabor their loss too much.

I wouldn't care if we lost every single mace in this war. The only thing I'm worried about is coming up short. We've killed a number of the German longbows, but there's going to be more to go (though thankfully not on hills), plus a huge pile of trash that they've retreated from one city to the next, and we can't count on WPC to accomplish anything. If we have enough, then that's great - bring on a hard shift to economy builds. I just felt it might be worth an accounting - We have x maces, y knights, and z elephants at or headed towards the front lines, while the Germans have p longbows, q elephants, and r assorted trash units, therefore, we're looking good to take on everything if WPC falls flat on their faces, or we need to build a bit more military to push us through.
