pindicator Wrote:Can I have a clarification on naval/sea units? I assume from your original example that transport units including carriers are not counted. What of bombarding sea/air units?

I think this quote from Sirian covers that smile :

Sirian Wrote:Anything that actually targets the city (or is intended to be part of the force you may use) are counted. Thus you could bring six Cavalry, four Riflemen, and two Frigates for bombarding.

So bombarding frigates count towards the 50%, but as I read it, frigates that are only escorting the transport ships don't count.

Ruff_Hi Wrote:Just a map generating thing. We had a forested mountain in one of our SGs once - cannot chop and I don't think it helps with your health either.

I opened the starting save to look. Strangely, the game just says Peak for the tile (not Peak/Forest) -- but it DOES help with your health. There's three other forests in Karakorum (not a spoiler, you can see that in the teaser image) and the city has +2 health from forests. Odd.

And a question: No Tech Trading is not on for this game, right? Meaning the AIs can trade techs between them?

Well, I've started. wink

I played in Epic One, which was my first foray into Prince. I stayed in the game until 1952 AD, at which point I was spanked by Ghengis. I had tremendous fun, however, and fully intended to participate in more Epics, but my underpowered laptop could not handle it. Patch 1.61 ended up making matters worse, as post-patch I could not play for longer than 20-30 minutes without needing a restart.

But now I'm back, with a much more powerful laptop, once again having fun with Civ IV. I still haven't fully "graduated" to Prince. War seems to be my weakness. I've been experimenting with Raging Barbarians on Noble, and that seems to be helping. So why not jump into an Always War Prince Epic as an ultimate learning experience? Sure, why not!

Cheers,
Michael
