if we were ever going to try out that system, AITP would be a much better place to start than WW.

WW 8 had it in place. Made it easy for scum.

Town played terribly in that game. You can't blame that loss on the rules. You could try to blame it on an unfair setup, but it would be somewhat hypocritical, considering you voted to lynch yourself at lylo...

I wouldn't be so blunt, but you're just never going to let that game go, it seems. You played terribly, and the loss says nothing about the pros and cons of that lynch system.
If you know what I mean.

Then let's do it and stop trying to balance and rules-lawyer a hard to balance mayor system for a game that's supposed to be short and fun and simple.

Problem with that is that I'm not going to be able to check the thread over and over to keep track with the vote counts and resolve turns at whenever it is.

Saturday is going to be difficult enough for me to a normal deadline. To a deadline that could be much earlier, not a chance

You could just resolve the turns at a normal time, but whoever is lynched is the guy who is hammered. I don't understand the obsession with immediate updates after the lynch.

I think I do prefer fixed deadlines for this game, to keep it moving smoothly. I was just calling out Rowain's claim that majority lynches make it easier for scum as utter bullshit.

well just as an fyi, "hammer" deadlines usually make the game longer, not shorter. see the mafia forum, where sometimes it takes weeks for a lynch to happen. I don't think we're nearly as conservative as them, and certainly much more active, but still smile.

I assumed it was a whichever came first scenario, either quorum is reached or day ends with largest minority

so should we just keep the random.org tiebreaker in place then? All our other solutions don't seem to hold up to scrutiny. And it does create interesting situations, like the last day in AITP1. It isn't likely we'll have a tie anyway, since its in every player but one's best interest to have a clear consensus.
