I don't know if losing levied units impacts war weariness. I don't recall seeing any war weariness from losing the levied troops in PBEM 14 but could go check my save file archive. What helps Alhambram is that war weariness in the classical era is easily dealt with as it accumulates slowly and one typically has more amenities than amenity requirements. He shouldn't have any issues.

Changsha might be toast if Alhambram moves towards it next turn. He is going to be able to hit it with 1 sword next turn and then 2 the following, maybe even 3. He should be able to take it unless scooter chops the walls out next turn. Scooter better hope he is not counting on any 1-charge builders for any chops. They will disappear if Alhambram takes the Pyramids (happened to me if PBEM2).

For the record, that was the genesis for the discussion here.

Walls aren't going to save a defenseless city for long, even when there aren't rams around. DotF doesn't help city strength as well. Alhambram can decide to take Longxi and get rid of DotF problems, even with the walls up. City center strength is at 20, which is really low compared to his units.

There’s just so many broken things not to mention the turn order issue is very punishing which matters a lot when PBEM is the only viable option. It really feels like some sort of balance mod is really necessary here for the game to have much of a future here. I like so many things about Civ6, but the bad things are really bad. Future games ought to consider players given the opportunity to ban civs. So maybe each player gets 8 choices, but other players can ban a couple of their options. Something like that.
It's a bit of a diversion so I'd figured I'd ask here first -- how much of the current Civ 6 player base was previously/frequently active in Civ IV? I've seen Krill, Pindicator and Cornflakes in some of the recent pitboss games, but how about the rest of "us" (I dabbled in epics/adventures waaaaaay back when in Civ III under a different username)?

I've never been a civ6 player: I played in a single PBEM, but I need the flexibility in play times that pitboss gives due to shift work. I've never played a single SP game beyond the first couple of dozen turns. I have spent longer runnings Sims for a single PB game than I've spent on civ6.
Current games (All): RtR: PB80 Civ 6: PBEM23
Ended games (Selection): BTS games: PB1, PB3, PBEM2, PBEM4, PBEM5B, PBEM50. RB mod games: PB5, PB15, PB27, PB37, PB42, PB46, PB71. FFH games: PBEMVII, PBEMXII. Civ 6: PBEM22 Games ded lurked: PB18

I'm the first player in RB to win a PBEM in Civ 4, Civ 5 and Civ 6* (by my own assessment of a won game ). I played Civ 4 way more than 5 or 6 and spent a lot more time planning for Civ 4 games.
5 and 6 both work out pretty well for a more relaxed MP game and I think the skill gap between players is less relevant. I enjoy Civ 5 combat a lot, 6 too. On the other hand, some mechanics in 5 and 6 makes you lose all your will to play them, so you have to be lucky not to run into one of those in your games. But there's nothing like the control you feel while playing Civ 4; it's like your civilization is made of clay that you can shape and reshape as you want. Civ 5 and 6 makes you feel like your trying to shape up metal with a hammer, it nevers let you really do what you want.
SP Civ is just not fun anymore. There's no interesting difficulty to play in (either too easy or just completely stacked against the human player in a way that is not fun) and the mid/late game always feel like a slog (civ 5 and 6 are waaaaaay worse than 4 in this regard, at least on the patches I've played; the timings are all wrong). They need to make a game of Civ that keeps the early game pace until the end, perhaps that would be playable again.
*(Just need a FFH victory to complete the Poker.)

The result of Scooter dying like this would make me upgrade Hungry from "banned because +2 is dumb" to "banned because OP". After the start of the game Hungry wouldn't be able to get that many levied units because CSs don't scale and people would fight super hardy to deny Hungry CS. However, that doesn't matter at the start of the game. I'm also amused that the Hungry leader and myself share the same first name.
I also see that Sullla has started reading the lurker thread now that Scooter is no longer reporting (green dot). Welcome to the lurker thread.

I glanced over the other three threads, and I'm pretty sure the game is already over. Check out Alhambram's development compared to Cornflakes and Archduke. He has an army equal to both of them combined, and is clobbering everyone else in science/culture.
His absurd campus sites + all that cotton! for gold + the better-than-I-thought transriver districts letting him rush the Ancestral Hall for more governor promotions + his massive free army + soon all of China's land means I don't see Cornflakes and Archduke stopping him even if they drop everything and go attack right now.
