Current situation in old Dutch lands ... I use to own that city ... Isk took it on first turn of war declaration - was defended by 1 musket.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

I doubt upgrading from musket to rifle is worth it. Combat in MP generally takes two forms: a large number of fast units, or a sufficient number of siege with enough mop-up units. It doesn't matter if the mop-up unit is a musket or a rifle, you just need enough siege. Cavalry are good units but your opponent already has rifles, so using them without siege will likely be ineffective.
Well there's a third form: an amphibious attack (either directly from ship or landing next to a city).

Rats - having too much fun playing the game and not counting the turns. The EP countdown expires on T132 and I forgot to move my spy horde in.
WW Counter (beginning of turn)
Isk - 19
Para - 1
Cear - 54
Other fun facts
Para is teching at 50% (+21g)
He had a unit down near my territory at the beginning of this turn ...
I took and razed Orleans ... I wonder what buildings got destroyed in that ...

7g ... a pity. Also, no more AP.
The tech situation - the only change from last turn was Isk picking up Astronomy. I guess I need to start thinking about galleons now too.
As promised, Isk cities in the far North ... full of wonders.
Further North - I have included the capital in the pic below but it doesn't have a city title attached to it. You can work it out yourselves.
You can also see from the mini-maps, that the French territory is getting noticeably smaller.

Isk got wise and pillaged the roads around that Dutch city he took ... it just happened to be the turn that I had positioned units (outside of his vision) to retake it. That will teach me to not have combat workers close by.
He also emptied his city and moved units into my land ... nothing that I cannot handle with a bit of unit repositioning and some prep to whip some cannons. Note the units under my spy. Further note the lack of roads that are limiting Isk troop movement options.
Para continues to send drips and draps against me. I am sending a Spy North to cover that forested land between us. I also have sufficient forces in the area to mop up anything short of 10 Cav (if he sends that much).
I am building (at least) one ironclad ... I might load up some galleys with units and send them North to harry his 3 coastal cities.
WW (beginning of turn)
Isk 16
Caer 75
Para 0

I'd stage your rifles 1N of the current tile (directly east of the city). Otherwise you're attacking across the river. Your current position does stop a sentry on the tile SW of his city from scouting you, but his stack is sizable and I wouldn't attack across the river unless absolutely necessary.

I actually moved it 2N to hit the city sans river crossing and also provide some protection from a rash attack against my city. I don't believe that he has combat workers in the area.

Para continues to dribble units at me ... that is 4 Cav that can invade in another 2 or 3 turns.
Meanwhile, on the other side of my land ... what happened to those units that were heading North last turn (see spoiler below)?

They've gone now. So ... where did they go?

Another email to Para Wrote:Para,
Just thought I would keep you in the picture re what is happening. You continue to dribble units towards my land ... I continue to marshal a nice, healthy welcoming committee. I don't see much future for them if they invade. Even if you do manage to take some of my cities - that land is a long long way from your holdings and you won't get much value out of them. On the other hand ... Isk keeps building wonders for you (Statue of Liberty) that you could take and incorporate into your holdings very nicely.
Ruff Isk completed the Statue of Liberty in the city that has the SoZ.
