I'm glad to see this one's difficult. The game is admittedly a bit of a deep cut, but I think the name makes sense when you realize what we're talking about. Here's a few hints:

* The game was shorter than average.

* Some players had basically no chance to win.

* Emphasis on the cleanup.

That Doviello rush FFH game? The one with only the naff leaders?

That's a depressingly large number of games.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

Still no.

Also, I think I just realized the forest game Jkaen was talking about (India + forests = lolol), although I think he was mentally combining two games. That's a good one, and maybe I'll name a city after that later.

This one stands out from the rest in a pretty unique way.

Was it the 4 player game where lewwyn just whipped me and 2 other bad players? (Where I went monument first)

The Pope's Ruff would be more specific.

THE DAILY ROLL

TURN 235–236: THE GREAT MERCHANT THAT COULD

After a comedy of gasps and recriminations which invoked the technocratic powers of great people, the Aztecs have gained timely access to representation right before the end of their golden age, and have managed to reach their silver lining of the isthmus campaign: the copper port of Weed Cleanup. Byzantium has accepted peace, and they have offered what is believed to be a 30 turn non-aggression pact (NAP), which Aztec leaders believe is a guarantee of their coming assault on the stratospheric Khmer Empire, who have now just settled right on the doorway of the Ottomans' perimeter and researched astronomy. The Ottomans' hard-earned monopoly of the tech was not to last. The Khmer Empire is a favourite to snipe communism and with it, the Kremlin, which will make the practice of slavery even more frequent for its population. Aztec foreign policy has not yet aligned itself to future offensives since the recent war, although England will certainly be considered as an angle of attack. Now the Aztecs eagerly hope for their last great person of the golden age to be a scientist, one who will assure their future bid for the Statue of Liberty.

Still nothing. (FWIW, someone did guess it to me via chat because they played in this game.) MORE HINTS.

* It's a Civ PBEM

* The mess being cleaned up was not the players' mess. Nor the mapmakers.
