Krill, btw, in case you log in again and I'm not around that time, I figure I'd better keep you up-to-date on diplo. Gaspar logged in but did not accept the fish-for-fish back. So, I'm not sure what that means, but maybe we will get a proposal from him in the next turn or two.

Mikehendi offered 1 gold for a peace treaty. I declined, and I don't think we should accept peace from him in the short term for any kind of offer he's likely to make, for two reasons:
1) Our WB will probably get stuck, and remember we still want to meet Gavagai and to a lesser extent Bantams. If we knew he would OB with us it would be a different matter, but there's no way to put OB in a peace treaty, so...
2) Roleplaying montezuma is good strategy. We're a crazy warmonger, and probably everyone else is happy with us to some small extent for being at war with Mike instead of with them. (And who cares if we piss Mike off.)

Founded 4 cities this turn. 1 more next turn and 1 more then turn after. Our cpt dropped by about 15-20, but I think that with the capital's market finishing, growth during the 5 caste turns, and a few extra wealth builds if needed, we can still get it done in 6 turns.

Gaspar responded by offering us a sheep. (I think he's saying he's sheepish about trying to claim two seafood resources that are first ring to our continent. I didn't accept - it's his only sheep.) I responded with 1g for 1g, for lack of a better way to say I get it. Krill, I'm going to plan to settle our city so the fish is second ring. We'll pop borders in 2t with artist + religion and I don't think it will be an issue from there. Having a horse and lighthouse lake will be worth it, I think. We'll leave the crab alone so Gaspar's city can get along OK and not look stupid.

We met Bantams. I have a nice screenshot that I expect sums the guy up nicely. Haven't seen anything like it since Fierce in PBEM23.

Regarding MoM, I was a bit anxious about the 109 hammers in something in Goreripper's capital, but it resolved to a forge this turn. Gore has Machinery btw which I find a bit strange. I'm guessing that's on the way to guilds, but why not get Feudalism first in that case? (He still lacks Civil Service, which is another reason I am suspecting a Guilds beeline. Otherwise why get Machinery before CS, right?)

I was going to say, I wasn't that comfortable with settling with the fish first ring on second thought. I was going to say that the south western city should be moved 1SE but you've already settled is, so it doesn't matter any more.

Also, yeah, I know Bantams from ye olden days of the Ladder. This is about typical for him.

I've been thinking about how best to develop the new cities; mainly from the PoV of religion and getting the necessary infrastructure in place, I figure the point is rush the granary ASAP, and then try to spread religion from older cities and propagate them via 2 pop whips? Even a simple 4>2 whip should pay back quickly considering the access to OR. After that, maybe we need to grow on an ikhanda or forge in most cities, and just stack the whip unhappiness? I think that with OR, the forges would mainly be 3 pop whips, and after that a market is a 3 pop whip again, and courthouse only, what, 2 pop if we have decent overflow into it?

In other words, I think merely getting the food resources hooked, and at least 2 farms per city and we can have the minimum infrastructure in all of those cities for something like 150 odd food worth of slaved pop. The market and forge give 7 happiness apiece, so we can effectively carry stacked whip unhappy until the end of the game. Fit in a lighthouse and court house there, and I think it's little more than 200 saved food for the missionary, forge, ikhanda, market and court house. The cities will sit at something like 21 happiness with just religion, forge and market, it's dumb. Then grow the cities onto cottages to store pop for knights, whilst they cost 30% city upkeep and bring in trade routes.

* Hashoosh offered all his cities for all of our cities. I declined. He then offered nothing for 4gpt. I declined. I offered him 1g for 10g. Then I offered him iron for free. Translation: "You're winning so you should pay us more." "We have a lot of cities but we are very poor in gold compared to you. We are not paying you money. Here is iron though, maybe you can put a bigger dent in Goreripper's hordes with it." I would also offer to trade him a happy resource (we have more than enough right now) for small gpt but he only had 1gpt showing, so I couldn't.

* Settled our city which will contest the fish that gaspar has second ring. I settled it with the fish second ring to us, too. Border pop takes 2t: religion + artist. Their border pop is probably coming soon, from 1cpt from religion. Unless they put more cpt in there we will keep the tile due to starting out with 5 tile culture on it to their 1.

* Breakeven tech rate dropped again, down to the 50s. But we are growing and no longer whipping now. Also, GP finishes a market this turn which is amazing given that we are breaking even at 10%. Need to grow and then whip some courthouses.

* Finalized the MaA micro. After 11t of production more, we can 3whip MoM. Or, we can just build it for 2 turns more to completion. (Whipping saves 1t.) We could also save a turn by chopping the ivory. I forget if we can do both.

* I have a headache.
