Another thing we can tell Univers is that the reason Apolyton are confident is that they've just pulled off a very nice play, getting a well-timed GA, unlocking their UU, stealing quite a lot of techs from us (making them the clear tech leader), and currently being the fastest team at researching. So of course they are confident.

However, we will have plenty of muskets ready to meet Apolyton and CivPlayers, and a pretty big edge in production and population. What's more, while Apolyton are currently at the height of their power, they cannot easily increase it. The only way that Apolyton currently can put themselves into the winning seat is with a successful war, and they won't get that against us. We think they realise that, and thus the pressure on Univers to join in.

I'm more than a little unsure about what Yuufo meant with "I suppose too". Is it a "I suppose too" about CivFr and CFC squabbling over former Spanish land? Or is it "I suppose two" and that that refers to Apolyton and CivPlayers. Or is it two more apart from Apolyton and CivPlayers? In that case, one is CFC, but the other one? The only candidates would be the Germans and CivFr, and if it's the Germans they're soon out of the game, and if it's CivFr I can say the alliance is doomed already.

I think WPC and univers has some sort of NAP. Also, it seems univers is looking for something other than fighting WPC? Otherwise, by bother contacting us? Just fight WPC when others are fighting us....

Yeah, WPC said they were safe earlier, which implies a NAP with UniversCiv.

Here's an idea for collaboration with UCiv: They fund us to Communism, we gift them the great spy, they infiltrate us and steal a bunch of techs.

I'm not sure what you mean. The point of them funding us would be to ensure that we get to Communism first, for the Great Spy. I would assume we are closer to Communism than UniversCiv is, and our max beaker output is monstrous, we just have very high costs.
