Current state of the area.
We managed to delay Rifling until after finishing OU. We'll finish the tech next turn.

For the record, that banter post was at least 50 times more cocky than I really feel at the moment but these games are in theory supposed to be fun, right? Twisting Britney Spears lyrics is a lot more fun than arguing about Knights vs Rifles vs Markets with Lewwyn and Noble.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Played turn 124.
As you can see above, last turn we moved two Knights within range of Izmir. This turn Izmir got a new Longbow which was expected. We attacked with both Knights at 78.9% and 63.1% odds and won.
Nice collection of buildings here. We're keeping this one. Renamed to Stonefort.
Next turn Davy Crockett will lead the attack on Kayseri. We should be able to take four Longbows with this stack (and the Knight). Hopefully we'll have some units left over to garrison Stonefort which might be vulnerable to counterattack. yuris might have a Longbow just outside our sight there beyond the dyes, but I doubt it. I'd have expected any Longbows to be southeast of the city.
The other units are healing for a turn and will meet up with the reinforcements to attack Edirne from the northwest. We'll hopefully be able to take Gaziantep with the remnants of the Crockett force.
Commodore retreated his ministack that was heading into Mist's land last turn. We got a look at Bravery's garrison which is pretty reassuring. Mist's espionage went way up this turn, he might have run some spies or slider to ward off city visibility from Commodore. As a result Commodore spent only 19 EPs on us this turn, as opposed to 38 the turn before.
We also swapped into Caste System. Previously we were also considering swapping into Pacifism to reduce the time to our next GP, but it doesn't seem that urgent now and we'd like to keep OR. However CS is useful to reduce our chance of a Merchant to ensure that we do get our next GA, so we swapped into CS without Pac. I also belatedly realized that we can now use Artists to pop borders in the new cities, which everyone talks about as a benefit of Spiritual but we haven't used this game.
You can see our next two GPs here, out of HC and DO. The HC one will pop first and push the DO one back to the next turn. We're starving HC a bit and not working one Moai coast in order to keep it ahead of DO. Anyway, this makes the chance of two Merchants very low.
Commodore has not teched anything for a long time. He's back to saving gold again this turn. We're not sure what he's doing but it might involve overflow stacking.

So
A) Knights for the win and
B) Only switching to caste instead of Pacifism
I'm 2 for 2. :neenernee

Here's an exercise:
WTF is Commodore up to here?

Let's do a mackoti lurker guessing game.
Please guess a) what Commodore is doing there, and b) what I think he's doing there. If you are a global lurker you probably cannot participate in a. So just go for b.

We played turn 125.
If you notice above, yuris had a couple annoying horse archers lurking just outside our border in Commodorian territory which we couldn't do anything about without declaring war on Commodore. This turn he moved them in, so we killed them with a spear and pikeman.
Then, we took Kayseri with a loss of 4 CKN - three leftover Shock ones that won't be very useful in the future, and one that we promoted to Cover to heal.
Another nice trove of buildings here. This one's now Keep Depths.
Overview of the combat. And uh, Commodore building the Hagia Sophia. I guess he really wants the GE points...he can already tech Steam Power which provides the same bonus. It's stacked in the same city as his other wonders, in Oasis which has ToA, Colossus and the Taj.
We're moving 14 units on Edirne. No idea if that will be enough really, we'll find out soon. We might use some of the knights in the north for Edirne instead of Gaziantep, depending on how the defensive composition works out.
Also note in the bottom left Mist's stack on the border - he's planting a city over there. I hope this will further annoy Commodore. Also notice that we're suffering unhappiness in Caldeum, partially because we're giving Mist a 2-happy luxury (Gems) for a 1-happy one (Incense). We could of course build a Synagogue for happiness. WW unhappy is now up to 3 there, which is quite bad...we'll probably need to tech Optics and/or Drama soon for more happiness sources.
Commodore still has not teched anything. He's burning gold again.
