[Spoilers PB23] Old Harry's attempt at civilizing AdrienIer

I guess I'll just have to ask for a 2-day pause... I know that PB18 is taking a lot of your time, but it's not like I have a chance to win so there's no real pressure, as long as you can make the basic moves it's alright (unfortunately it will probably be war turns so a bit longer than a normal turn).

So I now have both TGL and the Parthenon in my Moai city. As the proud owner of the MoM I'm probably the person that can use those best, and I had marble so I figured why not, might as well make the tech worth it.

In the end I've decided to not go for the chemistry-MS-Steel path, because I want to use the KTB to its greatest and many people have paper and banking, so I'm going paper-PP-banking-RP to up my economy, I don't think Agent or Ipecac will get to rifles long before me.

Here's the attack stack.

And here's the defense stack :

I bombarded the defenses down from 100 to 80%. Not sure what to do, should I ask for peace ? If I do that I'll go away and start going builder mode until I die, these pointless wars (some of them I started, admittedly) are getting on my nerves.

Hmm. Which option is going to make it easier for me to play the next few weeks? mischief

Dunno. Peace and builder mode probably ? The norther area needs to be rebuilt from scratch (almost), which should be possible with the enforced peace treaty. But it's really a rebuild from scratch so it's not just pressing enter.

Can you confirm that hammer overflow is capped at the built unit's hammer cost (like 90h overflow max for a knight) ? And how do the multiplier work ? If I put 200h in a 90h knight in my HE city how much overflow do I get in the end ? Right now I'm putting my overflow into the Shwedagon Paya in Lobambus (hoping for failgold in the end, or +10% research with FR if no one builds it before my overflows add up to the whole thing) but I'm not sure how wise that is. If it's better to build a knight could you log in quickly and change it ? And propose peace if that's your choice. This game is going to be yours for almost 2 weeks so you can start making some of the decisions now. And I'm in bed now.

Hey Adrien, the amount of overflow you can get off a build is indeed capped at the cost of that build (so 90 hammers for a knight on Normal speed). As for multipliers, simply divide the amount of overflow by the same multipliers you were getting on the build - so if you had, say, +25% to production of buildings from Organized Religion, divide your overflow by 1.25 to get the amount of hammers that is carried over (then added to the next turn's production, then multiplied again). I think (but am not sure) that when you overflow from completing a building that multiplies production (say, a forge), you 'lose' hammers because the amount you divide by includes the new modifier from the just-completed building. Someone else would have to confirm that part, though.

Yep, that's how overflow works. The hammers would be chopped off at 180, then the multiplier is divided out.

I guess the HE is producing more then 90 hammers per turn? That's good!

Anyway I'm off to bed too, so I guess you'll see if they want peace...

There's a LOT of overflaw, HE is producing 32h +125% normally. Which means a 1t cata/1t knight cycle is possible. So overflaw for the next unit is maxed at 90/2.25h for a knight ?

Correct. It's 90/2.25=40 hammers which then gets multiplied up to be 90 if the next build is a unit.

How did you manage to get so much overflow?

Built a settler there to resettle the razed spot quickly, couldn't 1t it so I got a lot of overflow
