[PB58] Tarkeel and Amicalola's rule through fear

I guess it is a combination of

- Running a lot of priest (Angkor Wat) and engineers
- Serfdom with focus on windmills and watermills
- Mining Inc

Tarkeel +team had earlier industrialization than the others. Could that be a part of the advantage?

Factories + coal plants.

Also, loved the parody song. Also, loved all the signs.

I'll try to keep this short, but the answer has multiple layers:

1: INDustrious forges, everywhere, early.
2: Mills, including serfdom and replaceable parts.
3: Apostolic Palace and monk buildings, whipped out everywhere before serfdom
4: Free specialists from mercantilism and later SoL, running as Angkor-boosted priests and engineers (see 1&3)
5: Late-game this got boosted with levees, factories and coal plants, to the silly numbers we had at the end. Don't forget MinInc as well.

I think the mill part is what's most interesting; due top the low food on the map we starting running windmills pretty early to reduce the food-offset of hills. We also saved a few forests for lumbermills which worked out great, but I think the biggest difference is that just about every single river-straight has a watermill on it. This cost us some commerce, so our economy has been mainly running on trade routes, monk buildings and Colossus-coast. It hurt us badly to research both Astronomy and ScientificMethod.

Thanks. I went hard and early on cottages this game. Seemed to work out fine, but the production difference was just insane near the end. I guess you guys kinda had every city be a production city?

Most cities were hybrids, doing decent output of both hammers and commerce. We didn't have many great cities (before the end), but most of them were good. I really recommend looking at some of the city screens I posted from T246; especially Carida and Ord Mantell show the power of mills. Carida is only working a floodplain and ocean fish as "special tiles", but is still pulling in 120 hammers due to the river.
