[SPOILERS - PBEM17] regoarrarr - Bismarck of Inca

pindicator Wrote:Indeed! wink

Okay okay folks. As I just emailed to Commodore, I forget where the lurkers ended up on wrt that issue.

As with anything, it's just a matter of making sure both sides know what they're agreeing with.

AFTER YOUR GA ENDED AND MINE STARTED

Sadly (for him, or for me from an avoid the dogpile perspective), he speaks true.

....

I guess it's hard to "brag" about Parkinizing the last 22 techs (though only in-thread) while talking out the other side of my mouth about how I'm not THAT far ahead lol

I didn't realize just how much bigger your GNP was than Darrell's in a golden age yikes In response to your comment that you were not THAT far ahead...

regoarrarr Wrote:So let's do a player by player list of who's got what

Darrelljs
I am up: Drama, Literature, Divine Right, Engineering, Theology, Divine Right, Chemistry, Corporation, Economics
He is up: Rifling

Nospace

..Your economy was in really good shape and you were pretty far ahead. tongue

EDIT: Crosspost with the PBEM26 Crowd. Fwiw, there were no lurker responses to Rego's query on whether or not his scouting was in good faith. I would consider it permissible though, just one of those things you do, and very hard for your opponents to catch. I probably would have done so too had I thought of it at the time.

regoarrarr Wrote:We obviously know that I can't count tiles (c.f. PB1 endgame), and I think that I thought he couldn't reach Tatan. In any case I don't think I could have gotten any units to it, but I'd at least moved the galley out of it smoke

I was wondering why you had left a galley in the city lol

Commodore Wrote:How long has he had Physics? They're dirt cheap. One other note, Tatan as an airbase would completely cover your core.

Didn't know you were familiar with airships Comm, could have used you over in my thread when I was learning the ropes of using dirigibles. I think they cost 53 hammers on quick speed, ridiculously cheap with a lot of utility. Yeah, I had intended to use Tatan as an airbase to cover Rego's core....then he retook the city bang

I was trying to see what type of reaction I would get lol

But really, you both are right.

Had I seen the mechanics question, I'd have given the answer. PBEM 19 veterans were RB's only experts on late Industrial warfare until this game.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

oledavy Wrote:Funny, Darrell never mentioned that rolleye

Yes this toothbrush is the best in the business sir. I truly believe that. My previous customer thought it was a piece of crap, but no doubt you'll love it lol. Seriously though rego thought it was a bad idea because he felt he'd win on his own (I think). My kindergartener can do enough math to know it was win/win for us, even with you stealing the Taj tongue.

Man was rego really that far ahead in tech? I guess he was winning after all...

regoarrarr Wrote:I did turn on "Units auto-promote" with the hopes that they will auto-promote before oledavy plays. They didn't promote at EO(my)T, but maybe they'll promote at the end of the game turn. We shall see.

Rego, was this the case that they did promote at the end of the game turn?

regoarrarr Wrote:It appears that my discovering Railroad obsoleted Grenadiers, which means that maces now upgrade to Machine Guns, so my whipped mace became a whipped Machine Gun!!

Needless to say a Machine Gun is slightly more useful in this situation than a mace lol

Had I realized this, I'd have also whipped a mace at Nowitzkiville, where Dave dropped off a stack of 18 rifles, 3 cats and a mace....

Maces auto-upgrade to machine guns...that's interesting. Useful to know for future games.

I never explicitly asked, so there you go. But at the beginning I was more or less like:

AIRSHIPS!!! jive wait.... rolleye What do I do with them? huh

Then I started using them and realized how powerful they are. lol
