I think our current economies are potentially pretty equal. I've more land, but he has better tech situation to help his current economy status (most notably Communism+Biology+Physics, when I lack even Astronomy+MilSci). Main reason is that he is very good at this , but I've made some crucial mistakes e.g.
* Liberalism deal - Givining him gold half the beaker value of Nationalism was way too much that set me significantly behind him
* I got bad end in the military tech deal. Researching towards Military Tradition while he did go towards Steel. It enabled him to sandbag both Communism Spy and Physics Scientists and gave me "worthless" techs concerning the end game that he can ignore
* MoM - It is just awesome - I'm glad Serdoa snapped the Taj since otherwise the game might be over already
* Culture side step - Made a mistake there. I should have just played normally and build wealth or other buildings. Wasted significant amount of potential beakers

At the moment definately, but I don't think the difference has been that bad over the whole game.

Final battle approaching. I captured very weakly defended Leptis and Cats this turn (Chariot and spear defending). Bringing in also some refinforcements that are located on copper tile. I'll probably sit in place for 2 turns to get all those units in place.

After taking the shot I did couple of fine tunings (no need to build science) and finished the Astronomy although it was not totally nescessary since I'm building Factories and coal plants and there aren't many potential places to start Observatories.

So if the endgame is going to be war, I'm thinking the best course of action is to tech Flight/Radio. mackoti is likely to get there first though isn't he?

He is quite far ahead indeed getting Radio in 2T. However I should start catching up when I convert back to max science mode. Not sure I can catch fast enough though.

T168 was played. Pretty quiet turn. Just lot of factories finishing. It seems that Mackoti has decided to go build wealth/Science route instead of Factories+Coal Plants. Might be wiseness. We'll see.
