No screenshots but it sounds like Jowy has GKC's pillaging raid well in hand.

What was your impressions? I tried getting into his Mars series a few years ago, but just couldn't seem to get engaged. Gave up 100 or so pages into the first book

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out. Definitely some wonky thinking going on in Rome. I can think of much better things to do with prats than send them half way across the map to pillage. Like say, conquer a neighbour?

I actually think nearly any attempt to conquer with praets is a trap. Play the early game as though you were playing England, with the caveat that IW does function as a military tech when/if one is needed, and then let the praets' advantages strengthen your gameplan with their extra utility instead of bending your game around using them the way most Rome players seem to do. (There are exceptions to everything, but "don't restrict yourself to a one-dimenstional gameplan before you even start exploring the map" is a good rule of thumb generally.)

I hadn't realized they were direct neighbours. GKC's latest update suggests he does have a decent stack of 7 prats moving in on land. I think he'd have had better results by skipping the naval raid and sending a land stack of 11 prats at Jowy's south. He still might make gains down there depending on how many axes Jowy has on hand.
