[Spoilers] Ibuprofen and Eyeglasses: Thoth plays a Middle Aged game

3 move.   CtH makes Flanking 1 necessary for Nav 2 and this galley was produced before the revolt to Vassalage due to the need to ferry a worker to my island in time to complete a chop.  My other galleys have 2 xp, I'll need either Theocracy or a settled GG to build 4 movers.

Do you think the gains from attacking scooter were worth the hammer investment into the vassalage galley and the raiders?

Even without the 180 hammers worth of workers: absolutely yes.

There is a pre-Astro path through the centre of the Inner Sea.

And I got distracted and forgot to pick up my newest worker.  rolleye

I'm not sure where Commodore's Keshiks have gotten too, but I'm assuming that they are in view for Scooter as he whipped a spear rather than an axe in his holy city (now his capital).

Expansion has resumed via some kinetic diplomacy with Yuris:

1st Amphibious Sword vs Axe with 20% and fortify:  22%  Loss but took Axe to 3.3 health.
2nd Amphibious Sword vs 3.3 Axe : 70%: Loss but redlined Axe.
C2 Sword vs slightly damage Chariot:  98%  Win
Longbow vs redlined Axe (didn't check the odds):  Win

Kept the city though it looks like I burnt it in Civstats as I two pop whipped another Galley in Halberd a couple of minutes after.

log:

I spent some gold on Espionage over the last two turns and now have Pindicator's and Commodore's graphs:
  (after hitting end turn)

Power:

Note that the other high power rating is Pindicator, not Commodore.

Production:

EOT F9 shows someone with 2h production more than me, Pindicator I presume.  Both Commodore and Yuris are heavily whipped at the moment and Scooter doesn't have enough pop to produce that many hammers.

So city 2 is size 9, what size is the capital? It looks like you have a solid industrial base going. Tech doesn't look shabby either.

Good hunting.

Capital just whipped away two coast tiles and is down to size 7.

Beq de Corbin is a nice powerhouse of a city: 24 base hammers per turn at size 10 which is still about 5t away but 19 base (23 net) is some solid production and one of the benefits of Operation Smokescreen's success is that the Heroic Epic is now unlocked so 1t Horse Archers, Longbowmen, and Catapults are close at hand. I'm aiming to get a couple more swords out first and then finishing up the HE and going into overdrive.

Pindicator has played an excellent opening and has a solid economy and military built. From the looks of the power graph he took a barb city by force at a cost of a few swordsmen and opened with Machinery so has access to Xbows. And he got the "free shock on Axes" event. frown

Tech pace looks ok but it's weak compared to Pindicator and Yuris. And the wars have cut off my trade routes to Commodore and Pindicator (who finally stopped emulating Tokugawa a couple of turns ago) so trade income is down until I can get a couple of island cities settled/occupied.

Neighbour 1 crippled, neighbour 2 lost a city.
Kinetic opening.

smile Unfortunately Yuris has parked a Trireme in my way so it could get expensive in terms of ships moving forwards.

But if the RNG is reasonable I should be able to add another couple of cities to my empire before Yuris can swap back out of Serfdom.

Took out Yuris C1 trireme at the cost of my C1 trireme and advanced.

C1 Trireme vs C1 Trireme: 32%  LOSS taking Yuris trireme to 1.2/2
C1 Galley vs wounded Trireme:  65%  WIN

I've got a 95% shot at his island city next turn or a 43% shot at his capital next turn if he doesn't manage to reinforce or build new units.

I'll take the 95% chance and aim to hit his capital once I've got my own reinforcements in place.  smile

Commodore finished Schwedagon Paya last turn giving him access to Theocracy and 2-promo galleys/triremes.

A great merchant was born in a distant land so I'm expecting a Civil Service bulb from Pindicator next turn which will give him access to maces.
