Are any of the civforum.de people willing to play with the mod? Without?

I think they started a own PBC ?
Sorry, but it seems to be the case that nobody looked in this thread. But htey are missing at least 2 more people.
I assume play by cloud, technically tools for playing Civ5/6 PBEMs are all play by cloud (no emails involved, save is transferred via online server)
Hey there, I'm from civforum. I just took a while until my account here got activated.
3-4 players of the civforum want to start a new pbc (cloud based PBEM). If we merge the groups we should have enough players. (6 turned out to be optimal) Typically, we play at quick game speed and use the Better Balanced Game mod. Are there players here who would like to join a new game? If so please let me know if you have any preferences regarding map / ruleset / etc. And let me know the time when you typically will make your move in the game. (time + time zone) Best Regards Patrick (May 20th, 2024, 08:06)Pedrik Wrote: Hey there, I'm from civforum. I just took a while until my account here got activated. We play with no mods and normal speed. I don't think our players would like to play quick speed () but BBG should be okay. Someone called made thrawn made a mini-mod but that was mostly to make sure Nan Madol cannot spawn without having the map-maker having to make special arrangements. BBG would take care of the balance bans but Civ6 has exploits which would make us add this to your rule set (if it is not already apart of it): -You cannot pillage City-State tiles except for farms and fishing boats. -Resource hiding ban. -City-gifting must be approved by the wise council of lurkers. -You must accept/reject Declaration of Friendship at once. -Declaration of Friendship blockades are okay. -With Austrlia nerf, Tatical Declaration of War is okay.
Hey there, many multiplayer matches are on quicker speeds. Most are on online speed. That we play our PBCs only on quick speed is a comprise already to have a bit more relaxed and single player related game play.
Reason to play on quicker speeds - Shortens the game length. A PBC runs for months, sometimes years. Especially, for players who don't see any winning chances anymore, it is easier to stay motivated if the game will come to an end sooner. - Power of war gets decreased. Killing another Civ during an own power spike (e.g. unique unit became just available) is super powerful in Civ6 and in MP matches often hardly counterable. Due to the fact, that on quicker game speeds most costs get decreased, but unit movement stays the same as in normal speed, the effective windows for these power spikes are shortened. - The changes in the BBG mods are made for MP matches and so are made for online speed mainly. I'm afraid these are parts of the reasons why the civforum people play their PBCs on quicker speeds per default. A few questions to your bans: - You cannot pillage City-State tiles except for farms and fishing boats. --> I guess this is to avoid exploiting CS, right? But if a CS declares war on a player (when its suz declares war in this player) it is allowed to pillage everything? -Resource hiding ban --> I'm not sure if I understand this ban. It says I may not prebuild units to upgrade them later? -City-gifting must be approved by the wise council of lurkers. --> Can't remember having issues with city gifting in MP matches so far, but I guess its fine if we agree to have to get city gifting approved beforehand. If possible, first ask all players or if impossible ask a accepted 3rd party. -You must accept/reject Declaration of Friendship at once. --> Very good rule. -Declaration of Friendship blockades are okay. --> Means I may actively block my 'friends' unit? Like when he's at war with someone else? -With Austrlia nerf, Tatical Declaration of War is okay. --> I guess so. All players I know from civforum are playing fair. However, that's hard to judge in Civ6 cause sometimes cleverly using game mechanics and exploiting is a thin line.
If I were to guess unit movement not scaling is the biggest reason why RB doesn't like Quick speed. Anyway answers to your ban questions.
You cannot pillage City-State tiles except for farms and fishing boats. --Workers repairing doesn't cost anything. So you can pillage tile, let them repair, and pillage again. Slower game speeds makes this much worse. Resource hiding ban --Upgrading units is better than building them. You can make this artificially happen by blocking yourself queuing stuff you don't intended to build and then rushing the lower tier unit. Normal speed, no "obsolete at plus 2" rule from BBG, faith-buying and upgrade policy cards makes this much worse. City-gifting --This rule is to stop a salty losing team from gifting all their cities, among other things. No diplo means players cannot speak during a game. This means it would actually play out by a player requesting the trade in their threads and the lurkers then approving it. Declaration of Friendship blockades are okay. --Yes you can actively block. Also IIRC correctly the who got proposed the DoF gets to Declare war first. There are no rules stopping that person from camping units, waiting to attack. CMF won a game against Archduke doing this. |
