Well, I don't approve the actions of MJW...
Modkill the baner would make the villagers very angry, but what he did is a completely against fair play.

7 werewolves is pretty rough on the villagers, all the more impressive that they managed to get off to such a good start. The villagers do have a nice set of power roles, though. (And no fools.) Still, incredible that 7 wolves were unable to save Sandover.
I think F&I should have been more explicit with his rules and also posted the role PMs immediately. If he had been I think MJW should have been autolynched for his transgression. As it stands I guess he should be let off with a warning, even if he's acted stupidly on many levels.
EDIT: That is definitely a "you really should have known better" kind of warning though...
I have to run.

Yeah and to echo novice, I (as someone who has never played this) had no idea that kind of thing was not allowed and in fact suggested it up-thread (spoiler thread).
You folks that apparently play this regularly need to take pity on those of us who never have! I think comparing that to reading your neighbor's spoiler thread is not very accurate.

Your vote tally at the end is off because you listed three of the players twice and didn't mention uberfish.

That would certainly punish MJW, but I'm not sure if it would actually penalize the villagers as a team, since their baner is already exposed at this point. Reassigning the baner powers might be worth the loss of a villager (or perhaps not).

as a thought since killing him seems like a bad idea we could make him a fool banner which did not exist and assign a random villager the real banner role.

I don't think that would work. You either have to leave it as it is or kill him. Surely he could just reveal his fool character as an alibi for acting in such a way? Introducing more secret roles would probably be too messy as well.
If you kill him, then transferring baner powers would probably be my favoured option, as it probably saves the game being swayed too much by the silliness of one guy.
However, if this is his first ever game then it may be worth a strongly worded warning and a lesson to all players & GMs about making things crystal clear.

Well, I never played a Mafia game, but it seemed obvious to me that that wasn't a fair thing to do.
Maybe I'm overreacting a bit, but for me a move like that is against the spirit of the game. But I really don't know what penalty should be imposed...
Ah, one question, fire&ice, do the villagers need to kill the villager possessed by Ilios to win or does he count as a villager for deciding the winner?
