novice may have considered growing to size 2, revolting to slavery and slaving out a worker.
Also, the 0% bonus only works on the beakers produced, not on the espionage or culture...that would suggest that either novice is heading for religion or the worker slave idea.
Okay, after chatting with Krill (and confirming in WB he wasn't lying to me), this is what happend with Novice. t0, settle in place and work the Corn. t2, work the Corn. End of t2, border pops and the city governor assigns the plains/hill/forrest tile automatically to get the EXP bonus. The bonus does not show up under manufacturing goods. With this data point anchored I can hopefully go back and figure the rest out.

P.S. Tech was likely Hunting or Mining. It was definitely not Animal Husbandry or Sailing as his GNP would have been higher.
This turn borders expand, and Darrell is being a good person.
So...I see clams, fish, incense, and coast to the south, what is hopefully a lake to the west amnd a lot of northern water.
This isn't a big island, only 813 land tiles. I expect per city boni to be very powerful...I like the second city spot of 966 of the capital more now that it has a fish.
Just to show Krill isn't the only one that can find multiple resources on one turn:
Apologies, paint seems to have trashed the bottom of the image. Anyway, red are confirmed coastal tiles, and blue are my "best guess" for the continent's shape. There is a total of 76 land tiles. If we assume that's the mean for the five starting continents, we have 811 - 5*76 = 431 tiles (53%) left over for the islands . Dutch and Vikings definitely looking like winning picks right now. Of course my numbers could be way off, let's see what happens. Dot map:
I actually like Orange Dot second for a Stonehenge play. It definitely means delaying the third Settler as we'll need all three Workers. It can work the Oasis until the Corn is improved. There is only one forest to chop in the inner border, but since its on the desert Stone tile its like two forests . I'll sim out during lunch time the Stonehenge date with this location. Two approaches, one with the build at Orange Dot, and one with the build at Thebes (we can connect the Stone with a single road on the plains tile 2N of the Rice) with pre-chopped forests.
Oh, obviously Masony comes before Polytheism now.
Demographis screen for posterity.
I have no idea when I'll find the time to catch up on that stuff .
How does turn 30 usually compare? A little early, or pretty much dead on? I would think the close stone certainly might make more people compete than usual.
Well, the good news is we have 2 CRE and one Incan civ. I'm basically competing with Shoot on this one. I think t30 is probably on par, maybe a bit late.
With no IND leader that wants Henge, and on quick, we don't have many comparisons on RB. Personally, I'm a little bit more cautious and would like to get Henge in a single turn with no loss if StM steals it. That means, the turn after a slave, we need a single chop and overflow hammers plus production to equal 27 hammers. Darrell got it in 12 turns after hitting size 4 which is pretty good tbh. It won;t be beaten without settling on the stone...and I'm not sure settling on the stone is the right long term move.
I much prefer settling 2E of the stone, but that has a lot of draw backs.
