Since apparently I am not interesting to lurk and nobody wants to post here besides us, let's rename the capital to Hydrogen next turn and go with the periodic table naming plan. Kuro renamed his nation to "Trolls" or "the Trolls" or something like that also.

Yeah I am still mulling over the settling order thing. Mainly the issue I see is that I want Oracle soonish, but I also want Sailing soonish to start exploring the mainland, and those are competing desires. And I also want to get Hunting/AH to see where horses are to avoid settling on top of them, so that's a lot of tech and there's not much to do but build another settler or two in the meantime. If we get mainland access sooner I'd definitely want to settle that instead of the other two island spots.

Also debating where we want to put the Oracle. I really want to put it in city 2 to stack the prophet points but production there is going to be pretty bad for a while since growth is slow, and we're only going to get two chops there (third ring chop goes to the capital, nothing we can do about that). Ideally I think we go WB -> granary -> Oracle in the second city, but that's probably going to be quite slow, not sure if that's too risky or not. Also we might want to work the ivory for three turns in city 2 before the gold mine is built, just for the extra food for growing later. We'd be trading three commerce for three food. Have to see if that cuts a turn off growing or not.

Okay, I changed our details and renamed the capital.



Next turn we finally reveal some new tiles. I turned the governor back on in [strike]Timbuktu[/strike] Hydrogen so that it'll automatically switch to the farm when it completes. We can turn it off again later.



Demos are interesting. Rival worst GNP is 19, and worst CY is 5. So Ellimist must have switched back to the corn-equivalent. So they are likely not building a second worker. Probably building a work boat I'd assume. I definitely would have gone work boat first, especially since after farming the corn their worker is going to be sitting on a forest hill waiting for BW to come in (they don't have Wheel like we do).

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why the other three players are missing a forest is that Krill left one hill unforested so that they can mine it pre-Bronze Working. That makes a lot of sense. I assume Krill gave them an extra forest outside the capital to compensate. Still, I think work boat first would have been a stronger opening because farms take forever on normal speed. Plus the boat builds faster, and the fish speeds up the worker.

I might be wrong about the forest thing again, Ellimist also starts with Mining so it doesn't make too much sense to give them an unforested hill and not us. Meh, who knows.

Also, apparently we wasted one commerce not switching back to the corn on the last turn of the worker build, because the 1 overflow gets divided by the Expansive bonus (to get the "base" overflow) and rounds down to 0. Swapping back would have avoided the useless overflow and gotten us an extra beaker. Oh well.
