[LURKER THREAD] WW24: Whispers of the Dead

I wouldn't have replaced tasunke if he voted day 2
Erebus in the Balance - a FFH Modmod based around balancing and polishing FFH for streamlined competitive play.

So Tasunke comes back, writes "ah man, game already started, but now I'm ready" and disappears again? rolleye
I don't want to sound impolite but this is one of the rare times when I wholehartedly agree with Lewwyn. lol

If you have no time to play and need to drop out, why not say so? duh

First, wholeheartedly sorry that I was not able to participate, thought maybe I could, but ended up just not being able to with all the travelling.

I would have supported myself being replaced, but just wasn't around enough to even voice that much.

By Monday I will have plenty of time for playing games, but just to be sure I'll check in on the forums to say as much. This last month, in RL, has been complete shit, and it was just arrogance to think that I could take on a WW game at this time >_>

The worst part about all this is that the game is sort of tainted now in that the first day ended up yielding less information than it should have through nothing that the players can control.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

The players dind't have to make the lynch today. Scum jumped at the opportunity, of course, but with (by my likely erraneous calculations) 75% of a vig in the game just let him do the kill.
Played: FFH PBEM XXVI (Rhoanna) FFH PBEM XXV (Shekinah) FFH PBEM XXX (Flauros) Pitboss 11 (Kublai Rome)

Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Its the nature of the game. You're trying to prey on human emotion to see who is lying. When you feel like someone just isn't listening to you, etc, you get heated. The trick is to manage to not take it away from the game.
