Epic Two - Eastern Gem Dealers - Info Thread

It wasn't posted before, but it is up now, and available right here. I usually post the save file for new games on Sunday night, Pacific Time (GMT -8 or so, depending upon daylight savings time). I'll often have a page for the game, but not the save, up ahead of time, but in this case we didn't want to have to post the rules on the site and then change them later on. This way, nobody will be getting the wrong rules because of a caching error or something.

How utterly evil, the screenshot indicates we can choose where to found, but the save game comes with Dehli pre-founded . This annoys me because I did quite a bit of plotting on where to move and found before loading the game, bah. But then again "start luck" wont be a factor.

There was only one right choice: to move TOWARD the Gems and get them in range of the capital. ... Welcome to variant land.

Well I hope range of the games was settling on the hill. If it was wasting the precious grassland :mad:
If we are going to do this, we should post the game picture that way.

Since I heard comment the game is harder with 1.61, I really don't need a handicap at a level I am not strong at.

I'll be playing. It is way out of my league considering I've only had Civ4 for 6 days and only played 3 Noble games so far.
Howevr, trying (and failing ) is probably the best way to learn and being able to compare the game in the end should be highly valuable.

In the variant rules it mentions selling gems for profit and not gifting them away.

So is it purely up to the player if say Leader X won't accept a straight Gems for X resource but demands an additional resource from you as part of the deal? Or do you have to accept this?

I was actually thinking about moving 1N to squeeze a second city onto our starting island.
