Turn 49:

Chopped slinger and overflow in Government Plaza, just one turn complete. Magnus moves to RMN and with completion of State Workforce I appoint Liang to RMZ.
Finishing State Workforce also allows me to swap policy to Maritime Industries and Ilkum. Also finished: Bronze Working and a iron resource appeared at 2 tiles of RMZ, nice!

Start Astrology for Stonehenge, I shall chop out galley and put 100% overflow in Stonehenge.

I have been thinking which beliefs to grab, I did initially want to grab Choral Music to deny others strong culture income. But now longer I think about it, maybe it is better to grab Jesuit Education instead.
Two reasons: firstly to make use of Choral Music, you need plant a lot holy sites and I am not exactly planning with it. Jesuit Education just need one holy site and from it spam missionaries to spread religion to my other cities. I favor campus and theater with Dutch civilization over holy sites, so why not. I just have to deal with other who gains a lot culture by Choral Music. Moreover it seem that this map is filled with cultural city states, not only Rowain but also Chevalier and TheArchduke seem to gain culture from foreign sources.
Secondly: to deny Chevalier from grabbing Jesuit Education. Him grabbing god of harvest is just too good with Seowons, with Jesuit Education Chevalier would skyrocket science in just matter of time and leave all others in dust and it would be eons before I finally am able to overtake him with district powered river bonuses.

I don't know whether Chevalier is aiming for Stonehenge but it is by far easiest route for non Russian civilization to garb early religion. With picking up goddess of harvest Chevalier made his intentions clear what he is planning. Although I didn't realize it at first glance, just thinking over and over again what his goal is, I slowly realized that faith chop might be boosted by Magnus and started to see what his plan is.
In case that 100% chop from galley don't finish Stonehenge in 1 turn, I shall do additional chop in the wonder itself. With this I lose a bunch good production but if I am first to pick up beliefs, that is trade off that I am willing to do.

For my other neighbor Rowain, he is first to reach 3 cities, yikes... Sumeria has strong start potential with Ziggurats and War Carts, but after classical period how would Sumeria fare? I shall settle 3rd city at turn 52.

Turn 50, 51 and 52:

Turn 50: RMZ finished Government Plaza, overflow in granary. I did purchase a 1Icon_Food3Icon_Production tile which is 2 tiles SE of RMN, reason: RMZ did loss similar tile due chop and district planning, so I bought that tile and it can be swapped to RMZ to restore production strength. Secondly I intend to buy marble tile for amenity and eureka for masonry.

Turn 51: RMZ finished granary and little overflow left. I notices new barb camp in south and barb scout already seem tipped barb camp about RMZ, so last little part of overflow in warrior.

Turn 52: RMZ finished warrior (and got inspiration for Mercenaries) and start builder to make use of Liang. RMN stop with builder due 1 turn from completion, I intend to send Liang to RMN at one point.
Founded 3rd city: Chocoladedam, I am second player to found 3rd city after Rowain if I track scores correctly. Founding Chocoladedam was on other continent, thus +2 era score.
I aim for golden age, era that I still can earn: finishing campus in RMN is a instant 4 adjacency campus which would give me era points, also completing galley should give me some era points.

Chocoladedam start galley to make use of maritime industries now and later it can be chopped out by Magnus.
I did finish Astrology this turn and wait 2 turns till start of chopping out Stonehenge in RMN. Start Archery for 2 reasons: firstly barb trouble that I am expecting soon from south, secondly Chevalier isn't going be happy about Chocoladedam.
Planned districts of Chocoladedam:

I preferred to place campus between 2 mountains 3 tiles west for instant 4 adjacency bonus, but if war breaks out between me and Chevalier, first thing what he does is pillaging campus.
So instead I shall place encampment there and campus one tile east with 3 natural adjacency bonus.

International news: TheArchduke honors his nickname "Monty of civ6 PBEM's" by declaring war at Emperor K. Hopefully Emperor K did anticipate this and didn't caught off-guard similar in PBEM 6 by me. Otherwise I and other players might face a empire that is twice bigger than us.

Turn 53 and 54:

No news from TheArchduke and Emperor K concerning war, but the fact that TheArchduke is 1st at military ranking with 282 strength while I am third with 128 strength and Emperor K last place with unknown strength don't promise good for Emperor K.

And Chevalier pulled out a Stonehenge stunt and grabbed DotF and Jesuit Education, just great another opponent with DotF at least this time I don't need worry about home continent bonus.
My warrior scouting south of Antananarivo got ambushed by 2 barb warriors and barb slinger, but my warrior shall able to escape to my lands with half health remaining.

Turn 54:
It started with message that ancient age is ending after 7 turns:

Magnus settled in RMN and chopped galley and overflowed in campus which is finished next turn. It turns out that I am first to sail upon sea which mean 3 era points.

Also I got envoy from Antananarivo due finishing galley which mean 2Icon_Culture extra per turn which shortened Political Philosophy with 1 turn. When campus is finished, I expects enough overflow to finish monument one turn after campus to get another 2Icon_Culture.

I try to finish Political Philosophy before ancient age ends because advancing to classical age also gives me era points. With 4 adjacency campus next turn I think that I am going enter golden age in classical age.

Turn 55 and 56:

Turn 55, finished archery and started wheel for watermill at both RMN and RMZ. Purchased marble tile with 105 gold, not sure whether it was wise.
Highlight of turn 5 was of course completion of 4 adjacency campus at RMN and it gave me 3 era points, 4 left for golden age. Overflow into monument (1 turn).

Rowain is first to reach classical age and he adopted Autocracy, does he plan to build wonder or mass build military units?
At least I got visibility of his city and Rowain hasn't picked Pantheon yet, though it might be soon since he picked up Silk Texts. Also I scouted for Chevalier's city and got sight upon his city.

Turn 56, finished monument and start galley for another 100% chop which I shall do at after 3 turns. Gaining monument indeed did shorten Political Philosophy with one turn.

But not sure whether it is enough to push me in golden age, only Rowain is currently certain of golden age. 1+ era for reseraching next era civic plus maybe +3 era for first get certain government which mean no Autocracy for me. I shall pay attention which government both TheArchduke and Chevalier do have next 4 turns, if still chiefdom, okay I can choose from Oligarchy or Classical Republic.

Builder completed with 4 charges at RMZ, he did improve another cow tile for housing mainly and next turn climb upon iron hill and then turn 58 culture tile picker shall add iron tile to RMZ and I can mine it.
It shall give me eureka for iron working and apprenticeship since it is going be 3rd mine, after this this worker goes to Chocoladedam to improve chocolate for more gold and amenities and then maybe chop.
RMZ start another builder who shall create quarry at marble and create two fishing ships for RMN grabbing eureka for celestial navigation. One charge remains then, maybe banana or chop at Chocoladedam?

I shall move Magnus after chopping 2nd galley to Chocoladedam and Liang is set to finish Government building first before going to RMN for another round of builders there.

Turn 57 and 58:

Turn 57 was a quiet turn, nothing special happened.

Turn 58 at other hand, my galley at north did make contact with Japper!

Japper got 13Icon_Science and 6.5Icon_Culture especially that last one isn't good, with everyone racing for Magnus now and Japper did finish campus before settler if I recall it correctly.
This screenshot shows that Chevalier's expansion might be limited by me and Japper, Japper's borders are barely visible NE of his warrior, likely his second city.

Also my scout found city state of SE corner: Granada and it ask me to get eureka for Masonry, consider that done soon with marble east of RMN.

My builder did mine iron and got eureka for both Iron Working and Apprenticeship, that builder is going to Chocoladedam while new builder from RMZ is going do marble and two fish resources at RMN for eureka's.
Next turn chop out galley and overflow in settler, I did consider to overflow in holy site but after some thinking I decided to not bother with religion too much, instead invest into other districts.

However I shall place my next city nearby Tsingy (to be extact two tiles above Tsingy at forested tile next mountain) and build holy site at flat plain tile next Tsingy for extra adjacent bonus for holy site, from that moment I just wait till I grab enough GP, Rowain already started to do it and I shall allow him get GP before me, religion don't interest me while playing Dutch civilization. I shall wait with founding city till Ancestral Hall is completed in RMZ so I get free builder when founding next city.

International news: TheArchduke did reach Oligarchy government which mean I am going into Classical Republic when I finish Political Philosophy to hopefully get extra era points, I shall kick myself if I am mistaken about era points. Then before finishing Ancestral Hall, I swap to Oligarchy for Oligarchy legacy wild card (I still has to finish Military Tradition or Mysticism, so I can plan around with governments this time) and then decide whether to keep it or swap to Autocracy till medieval/renaissance government.

Chevalier is going be trouble with Sewons and DotF, I attempt to minimize his expansion and hope that Japper has same idea, I did offer DoF to Japper.
But I am unsure what to do, if TheArchduke manages to conquer Emperor K, then it is more logically that I ally with two other western civilizations and Rowain. But that might play game in Chevalier's hands.
Other option is to not go for DoF with Chevalier and try get first GG and smash Chevalier before he manages spread DotF over his all cities. But I think that it is too late for that already.
So best course of action is keep us balanced as many as possible and then by limiting Chevalier's expansion, I eventually should able to outtech and outcivic him to overcome difference of DotF.

Turn 59:

Killed barb warrior with slinger who can promote next turn, chopped 2nd galley (eureka for shipbuilding) at RMN and overflow in 1 turn settler, in case that overflow continues I shall invest in library for more science and GS points or watermill for construction eureka and higher food yield at RMN, it is growing quite slowly though it shall be fixed with 2 improved fish resources.

Also finished wheel and start irrigation for chocolate plantations soon, Chocoladedam grew to size 2 and is at standstill for now till 2 charged builder from RMZ arrives, I made sure to check: no barb units of Chevalier's units between RMZ and Chocoladedam. This is safe enough for builder not to be escorted.
Next turn pick up Classical Republic for hopefully extra era points, also next turn send Magnus to Chocoladedam, I hasn't done this turn but it won't disrupt schedule since builder shall arrive at planned tile to chop at turn 67, so 2 turns left to send Magnus to Chocoladedam for timely chop.

International news: Well you all probably know already: Emperor K got eliminated by TheArchduke...
No good since TheArchduke has double room for expansion now and did Emperor K again let himself caught with pants down like in PBEM 6? If there is one thing that he need to practice is how to defend against rushes.
At other side it was unlucky to be Mongolia's neighbor, I probably would be in trouble too.
Question is what TheArchduke is going do, push further against Japper who hasn't remarkable achievements in PBEM's till now but it is quite far at other side of map with possibility that Chevalier and me might intervene.
Or shall TheArchduke lay his sights upon southern neighbor Rowain, it would be best move for him. Without Rowain there is nobody left in east to challenge him.
Third and unlikely choice for TheArchduke: just consolidate his possession and attempt out-tech other players by sheer mass, difficult against Korea and Dutch who get science bonuses.

I initially planned to do some strike against Chevalier, but in light of international situation it is better to ally with both Japper (and maybe make use of Cree's power) and Chevalier, same time if possible support Rowain.
Japper is a easygoing type and I just signed DoF with him, long term we can become good allies, especially due the fact that our borders don't meet now unlike PBEM 5.

Chevalier is other matter, he did announce his intention to turtle with DotF and attempt to out science all other players, well I accept his challenge and shall attempt to beat him at science and culture category.
I did forget when our DoF ended and I did dig back in this thread: DoF ends at turn 62 which is soon! Chevalier already seemingly moved some of his units more southwards, I need to monitor his movement carefully to check what his intentions are. Next turn settler completed, he shall be escorted by a slinger at RMN. I can if necessary upgrade slingers into archers if situation asks for it.

Turn 60:

Just one more turn till ancient age ends, I finished Political Philosophy and took Classical Republic government which gave me 2 points, with 1 point from reaching Political Philosophy I barely reached threshold of 24 points, with other words I am going experience classical golden age!

With this I joins TheArchduke and Rowain with classical golden age, Chevalier is still 5 points away from it. I hope that he don't reach golden age, because he can spam settlers and builders by buying faith with Monumentality dedication.
I won't take it, because how I did play till now don't suit it well: taking ancestral hall and boosting Liang, that actions would be waste otherwise, also I don't have strong faith of gold per turn right now.
Instead I shall likely take Pen,Brush&Voice: inspirations for civic becomes 50% instead 40% and also 1 culture for each district, with other words pseudo Meritocracy policy card from vanilla version.

And policy swap, somewhat not really inspirational policy cards, I am not feeling good flow here.

Agoge to build archer in Chocoladedam, I am getting bad vibes from Chevalier who founded 3rd city somewhere and has some archers walking along his southern borders.

After 2 turns policy swap to diplomatic league so when builder improve quarry, Granada get 2 envoys for 1. And I am still considering what to do with envoy that I gain by finishing Mysticism.
Invest in Antananarivo because its suzerain power is interesting for my GP game play, or suzerain Antioch right away to get visibility of west?

RMZ finished builder and started ancestral hall, it takes 8 turns to finish even with 30% discount from Liang, which mean when my settler is ready to found 4th city at turn 65, I need to delay settling with 3 turns to get free builder, I shall try to shorten build time of ancestral hall with 1 turn somehow. RMN didn't get good overflow as I hoped, so start watermill to make RMN more productive and eureka for construction to deal with Games&Recreation bottleneck. Overall I don't have good feeling what I am doing here, I do get feeling that Chevalier, Rowain and TheArchduke did better job than me.

Speaking about Rowain, his Pantheon choice is bit strange: stone circles? Rowain do have two marbles hooked up, that is a given but stone is better off harvested using Magnus.

I think that there are better choices, I know that oral tradition is taken (TheArchduke) also goddess of harvest (Chevalier) and divine spark (me). Dunno what Emperor K took and I might scan Japper's city soon what he did take. But almost all other remaining choices are better than stone circles.

Turn 61:

Ancient age ended and classical age starts, golden age for me!

As expected TheArchduke and Rowain join golden age festival while Japper and thankfully Chevalier reaches normal age. Time to make a dedication:

To be honest Monumentality is by far strongest choice, but as explained before I didn't steer my empire-building in direction of Monumentality usage.
This is why I am grateful that Chevalier didn't reach golden age, he would be go crazy with faith chop and mass spam settlers and builders if he did reach golden age.
So I decided to go for second best for me: Pen, Brush and Voice because I can use this power right away (3Icon_Culture per turn extra now and more if I build more districts), I lacks commercial hubs and harbors to make use of Free Inquiry.
Exodus of Evangelists is only interesting for late game religious civilization such as Arabia.

There was a little unexpected side effect of Golden Age, it seemed to give me little extra science and culture as result Mysticism is completed now already, not what I meant to happen.
So policy swap then...

Unlocking Mysticism also meant that I can run Inspiration policy card now, with this I shall grab GS at turn 65. Next GS is going be medieval one if I am not mistaken. I assume that if you want get another classical GS, you need to grab first GS while in ancient age (not player's average era but the game's era, now it moved to classical age, so all next Great People should be medieval from now).
Diplomatic League because after 2 turns I am going improve marble to finish Granada's request.

Speaking of requests, Antioch gave me new request: eureka for engineering, with other words build a walls. Antananarivo put new request: eureka for construction, with other words build a water mill, how conventient since I am building one at RMN right now. That is why I did put envoy earned from Mysticism in Antananarivo, so when I finishes watermill, I becomes its suzerain. With GS soon, I already get 2% extra culture and it becomes more if I farm more Great People.

Changing my policy cards also meant that I decided to change build in Chocoladedam, it needs more tiles. I am saving gold for 3 archers now.

Notice more brighter colors? That is effect of being in golden age, if entering dark age, screenshots shall become dark too.
Start Masonry since I need walls for defenses and Antioch's request, after 2 turns improve marble to complete masonry and Granada's request. Start Military Tradition so I can swap away Diplomatic League.
Since next ones are Games&Recreation and Drama&Poetry worth 8 turn research without eureka, I am also going swap in Oligarchy Government if I finishes Military Tradition, this way I gain Oligarchic Legacy wild card to be used in times of warfare.

My research plan: Masonry-Horseback Riding-Construction to deal with Games&Recreation bottleneck, then Currency-Apprenticeship.
Civic plan: Military Tradition-Drama&Poetry(no wonder build due no time, just research fully to get theaters online asap)-Recorded History (to get Natural Philosophy policy card)-Games&Recreation-Defensive Tactics (for 100% Limes card).

International news: TheArchduke swapped from Oligarchy to Classical Republic, his horses don't profit from Oligarchy so it don't matter for him, so don't think that it is signal that TheArchduke is putting down sword for a while! Moreover his diplomatic screenshot shows 2 horses and finally at Great People screenshot shows 1 GG points per turn for TheArchduke. Rowain and/or Japper, beware! Monty of civ 6 PBEM's is clearly planning a horseman/Keshig/knights attack supported by GG!
Speaking about Japper, I did get visibility of his city and was yet again baffled by pantheon choice: Religious Idols, 2Icon_Faith per mines at luxury or bonus resources...same as Rowain not really impressive.

Turn 62 and 63:

Turn 62 was quiet and few things happened, turn 63 it was bit more active:

My builder finally did improve marble, resulting in eureka for masonry finishing it at turn 63, also 2 envoys for Granada. Start Horseback Riding for Construction bottleneck, also finished Military Tradition, start Drama&Poetry and did a policy swap plus government swap to Oligarchy:

Maritime Industries due almost chopping out galley at Chocoladedam soon with Magnus, Discipline due barb problems south of RMZ, Charismatic Leader because I already used Diplomatic League for Granada.

That pesky barbs are causing problems and if I didn't upgraded slinger into archer at whim at turn 62, that unit would be killed by sudden approached archer plus warrior attack. Now my archer is redlined and he retreated.
Oligarchy and discipline combo was too much for barb warrior who attacked my archer and it got killed by my warrior. I shall attempt to mob up with my 2 warriors and redlined archer, then two warriors shall beeline for camp to prevent more spawns.

International news: both Rowain and Chevalier settled his 4th cities, Rowain was expected since he got 2nd and 3rd cities earlier than me. Chevalier at other hand do seem maximize the fact that he started in jungle to mass chop using Magnus. I do have forests too, but I intend to save them up for future chops, Chevalier got luxury of many forests/rainforests, this also counts for TheArchduke. I did mention around turn 5 already that jungle start might be too overpowered with Magnus around.
TheArchduke did denounce Japper, is Japper his next tagret? TheArchduke's GG points did raise to 3.4 per turn, likely one encampment and GG policy card while at Classical Republic.
Reply

Turn 64 and 65:

My settler arrived at place, now just wait 3 turns before ancestral hall is completed, a hassle but I shall gain free builder from it.
Improved chocolate at Chocoladedam which made my citizens happy and bit more gold per turn. Magnus established and turn 67 chop out galley and overflow in either wall for engineering eureka and Antioch suzerainty or monument for faster tile picker.
I think that I am going for suzerainty since being first suzerain of city state do give me era points, I need to avoid dark age when classical age is over.
I also did get 1 era point for recruiting Aryabhata and envoy in Yerevan for finishing request, after 4 turns I get envoy and I shall put it in Yerevan for more era points.
However next GS wasn't medieval one but Hypatia. banghead I did consider to pass, but it might become medieval one instead Hypatia if another player picks up Aryabhata.
Japper get best chance to pick her up, in 9 turns with his current GS points per turn, however I am worried that Chevalier might snipe it with faith from Magnus chops, Chevalier already planted his 5th city.

Barb trouble is under control south of RMZ, only barb archer left, two barb warriors killed and no causalities among my ranks.

TheArchduke did declare war at Granada and he attacked it with chariots, my scout did walk past them past turns. This way TheArchduke is prepared to flank Rowain's empire, seem that he is TheArchduke's next target.
