[Spoilers PB23] Old Harry's attempt at civilizing AdrienIer

Nice analysis. I hope you don't take my thoughts too negatively, as you did plenty right, but of course there was room for improvement:

Shaka of Rome was a bit nerfed by all the other AGG leaders, you were unlucky to have two of your three neighbours AGG, and the third so much more advanced that AGG wasn't much use against him. When Genghis was taken I think we should probably have switched to another IMP leader rather than sticking with AGG since EXP wasn't all that useful for expansion.

I agree the worker steals hurt you a lot, but they were both valuable lessons in different ways:
- you moved the worker onto the tile next to the barb when you could have put a turn into a chop or a mine on the way and moved onto that tile with a move to spare to either start the improvement or run away. This sort of miserly hoarding of worker turns is the difference when novice, dtay or Fintourist have a lead by t70 before any of the big strategic decisions come up. It's a bit of a pain to plan it all properly, and there are a lot of tricks to learn, but it pays off by making the later game a lot more fun...
- for the Agent snipe I think you justified it with "well now I know that he's aggressive" - which should really be the assumption in MP until someone proves otherwise

I have to admit that after you didn't follow the micro I wrote for the Moai city I lost interest a little, sorry about that. PB18 was (is) a big time-sink, but it was more that I didn't want to do stuff that wouldn't get used. I guess that meant I didn't engage early enough with some of the later strategic decisions that didn't work out (the foodless city and the one NW of the MoM weren't great). Also I shouldn't have let you (me) attack CH, but by then I thought it didn't really matter. shhh

Grabbing the MoM was pretty good though nod.

I think my main disappointment with this game was that boats and boats of Amphi Praets didn't strike terror into your neighbour's hearts on such a suitable map frown. I can't remember why IW came so late, but that's something to think about for the next game - figure out what your USP is and beeline it...

I wrote a reply yesterday but apparently my phone didn't feel like sending it.

Yes about agg leaders. As you had said yourself when I picked Rome praets kill everything except shock axes. Of course I could make my praets shock too but that's part of why I didn't boat anyone : with amphibious I would have been destroyed by the Zulu and Vikings axes, and with shock I had to land before attacking giving them time to reinforce. IW came late because of that, but also (mainly ?) because after calendar for MoM and much needed happiness resources I needed currency to up the economy (and build a few forums). It postponed IW by a lot.

The first worker was just stupid to lose for all sorts of reasons. The impi snipe was more complicated, I still feel that double moving on someone's border when you're considering attacking him in the next 2 turns is bad sports. Even if you let him double move back. In my case I didn't notice that I double moved him back. Also what if I had a unit that could have killed him on the first turn but not after ?

I had some fun this game (especially at the beginning and when I cleaned two Zulu stacks) and I'll definitely come back for more games.
