Conurbation had way too many troops, so I pulled back that smaller force (after razing disquisition of course; small victories
 ). We killed some uh, catapults. A crossbow. 2 musketmen! But that's about it. It's pretty rough.
Hi, anyone who is reading this thread (and my lovely dedlurkers). I've been thinking about this for a little while, but I wanted to wait until I was certain this game was over before acting on it, so I could congratulate the winner for if/when they read this. Congratulations, Civac!
 But back to the point. I'm really not proud or comfortable with the negative tone that my threads have taken for the last few months (the 56 one is much worse, but here is bad too). While it can be gratifying in the short term, I think it makes the games much less fun for me overall, and I'm 100% certain it's not fun to lurk either. Unfortunately, I don't think it's something I can just flip a switch to fix. So I am going to take a short break from reporting, and reflect on how to reframe my mindset regarding these games and my reports. I expect to come back when PB59 kicks off, and hopefully my thread will be a lot more enjoyable there. Thanks to both of you for being such good ded-lurkers and so patient with both my mood-swings and noob plays. I wouldn't have learnt half as much from this game without each of your contributions, and I really do appreciate it. I especially loved how you taught me to do micro properly, and I will probably always treasure this game as the one I learnt the most from. Thank you.
Did Lewwyn not go in with you? / did Gav go in? You could still try taking the islands, but you know situation better than I do.
People like to complain. You've read my threads; they ebb and flow. I really haven't noticed too much here, but maybe that says something about me... Glad you had fun; glad you learned things and stuff. You played a very solid game.

But I also saw civac's cannons  I also think you played this solidly, with a difficult position on the map, surrounded by neighbours that were all at least spiky, if not scary. civac's game here no doubt is very storng and impressive, and I'm pretty curious for his thread, but it is also true that he just got a better opening to his west, and arguably an easier border with just us as the other threat, who were busy with the Khmer scare though. That's the game, and will always happen. Glad to hear you've been enjoying it. I also had fun lurking, and never felt you were being to negative. If anything I'd have appreciated more reports, although I understnad that the turns itself are already pretty investing. Given that he's not attacking yet, I'd say get another stack of siege together, and make an attack from him as costly as possible. Defender's advantage can go a long way (as you've just seen ) .
I didn't find this thread overly negative either.
It feels like you've learned a lot, but one thing I always like is to have people to bounce ideas off in the moment - so a discord chat and team mates in your time zone might help next time.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the kind words.
 I do hope this thread has been alright to read. I think my 56 thread is the big offender (without going into spoilers), but I've felt it leeching into this thread slowly too. Maybe it's just me, but it's really been stressing me out, in both games. So I decided to just take a break for a while and decompress, and think about how to avoid it in the future. I'm actually feeling a bit better already. I hope that's not too disappointing an ending for this game. Last in-game update: SD attacked us, and took a border city, then Lewwyn of course attacked him. I'm just as confused as you. 
Does your concession still stand?
