Well I had a look and I think it's possible to save 1 maybe 2 worker turns if you take the path via the sllk(?) NW of McDonald's. This skews the pathing a bit though so if City 6 is going to go to the stone then you'd probably want to go with Pindicator's plan. Work calls, sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Played in:
RBPB2 - Willem of Ottoman - 6th/10
RBPB3 - Joao of Inca 13th/17 or so???
PBEM6 - Shaka of the Vikings 2nd/5 (thanks Lewwyn)

Sure, I can try. From your post on page 60...not sure how to link to a post but anyhoo...you've invested 10 worker turns into making that 4 tile road, starting 1N of McDonald's and heading 3NW. The turn that I think we can save comes from not having to build on the desert as it takes 3 turns to road a desert tile.
So if you take 1 worker on T71 into the Silk tile and spend T72 and 73 roading it, the other worker is free for 3 turns so could say build a cottage 1W of McDonald's on T71, T72 & T73. T74 would bring both workers to 2NW of McDonald's to road and T75 1W of that tile to road. The city would be founded on T76 as expected and both workers would be set to begin improving it immediately (if that's the plan).
The problem is you guys will have another settler for City #6 not long after that and the 3 worker turns into that cottage (or whatever else you might need it for, maybe chopping 1N of the Silk?) and the road that Pindicator has planned is a lot easier to work with to get that settler to the Stone site.
Anyways, at least it's some food for thought I guess?

Yeah, that makes sense. We'll have to see how far ahead the stone city is to figure out if that turn now is worth additional turns later

Tonight's turn in a nutshell:
PINDICATOR, RELEVANT PICTURES ARE DEMANDED BY THE LURKING PEASANTS.
edit: or the lurkers could put themselves to good use and make something of Commodore as Saruman.

Turn 71
Since our esteemed scooter went to bed, I've got the images for you all
First, we moved our impi back south and found that Commodore was chopping all his trees. To fuel the fires of Orthanc, I'm sure. We also moved our northern Cover impi S-SE onto the plains tile, and then our axe moved SW-SW onto the forest by the archer.
Well, Commodore has already played Turn 72, and how did he react?
He retreated his archer onto the flat ground! We can take a 86% shot with our impi next turn and then retreat to the hill, covering the impi with the axe. I think that's a shot we should take, too, but I'll wait for the scooter to weigh in.
And here i noticed something else. The image looked a little clear. A little too clear.
Azza had accepted our map trade! And so I zoomed out... Scooter, I think it's time you let the map know how you really feel:
And then I zoomed out some more...
(By the way, I need to find a way to shrink the UI; is BUG mod the only way to do that?)

So what do Commodore and Saruman have in common?
They both share a love of chopping trees:
And may be a tad zealous in the war department:
We can always dream Commodore will act like the book-Saruman, but likely he'll do like Peter Jackson and skip this part:
But if I had to pick a winner, I would have to go with their ability to just be damn annoying when you want to deal with bigger problems.
