Ok, I do have a question. You have something like a 3x lead in hammers, and that's the closest it's been in quite some time. Why do you need a tech advantage, too, for the crushing?

They need a movement advantage. IE: 2 move tanks and movementless planes. Most everything they have is 1 movers so the would have to 1 move into Comms land get collateralled and lose a ton. The attack might even fail if Comm kills enough.

Lewwyn's right, but not really. We certainly could just load up everything we have and crush anything and replace it quickly. This is just more elegant and has less room for error. It would take the world's most coordinated dogpile AND complete mental breakdowns on our part for us to have any difficulty at this point. Which, naturally, is why the game is boring now. Its only fun when you can still lose, unless you're a bully like Nicolae or Krill. :oldwink:

Oooohh let me try an analogy! Trying to attack Commodore right now with infantry is like trying to turn off a blender by sticking your entire arm into the thing.

Yeah, basically this.
Specifically, since it occurs to me that you don't play much BTS anymore, Mardoc - the issue is Rails and Machine Guns. Rails mean theres no such thing as a surprise attack, Machine Guns means uber-defenders. Can we break that with superior production? Yes. Would it be bloody and painful? Unbelievably so.
Noble, being the gigantic chicken that he is, also is somehow afraid Commodore is going to attack us so he won't feel safe until we've built Eurabatres and teched Omniscience for Blood of the Phoenix. :oldwink:

I think the issue is more rails + cannons.
Sufficient mobility to avoid being ganked by cannons + friends definitely helps. It seems NoGas prefer tanks to boats, which are the other main option to achieve this (perhaps Cavalry are viable too with air support). Either way, Industrialism is key.

Cavalry are definitely viable given enough air support, but it would be difficult to get a sufficient concentration of airbases for that kind of volume. I like boats too, but we're limited in how many boats we can build. We need Industrialism for Marines anyway.
