I wasnt accounting for the impi almost done in LJS, glad that's an option. I'm ok with waiting on upgrading and waiting on archery - but one idea with archery was to follow that up with HBR.
What about settling NE of zaxby instead of the stone? I think thats the best city spot we have and ots safe.

Well I think if we finish the impi in LJS now our settling options might look a lot better by the time we're actually done with the settler.

Agree with NH. We have a few turns before we would need to decide.
The allure of grabbing HBR and trying to flood him with HAs is REALLY tempting. If we can make it happen well enough to unhook his ivory pre-Construction, we're in great shape. A stack of HAs + Impis is basically not killable for him right now.

Uh well WEs obviously counter HAs, and I'm not really confident that we would be able to attack him before he makes it to Construction and gets out a few WEs.

That's why I mentioned un-hooking the ivory. Though generally I agree, it's just tempting. Un-hooking the ivory probably needs to be our priority at this point.

Yeah, keep in mind he would need to have HBR & Construction before he can build WEs
I also favor the idea of turning this into a duel. Let the king of the ruined south step forward!
Edit: We can also cancel our horse to Azza now if we choose. Should we do so?

Next Turn:
We have a cover impi inside Subway and a Warrior outside. Impi finished in each of LJS & McD and should be able to get to Subway in time, but we're going to be holed up in the city while he takes the forests.
Commodore's power is shooting up. I think we put the settler on hold and use the chop to get another impi out of the capital.

This game is starting to depress me...
Commodore, regardless of what else is said in this thread, it's just not fun to play with you in Civ.

Let this be a lesson to all future neighbors of Commodore. There can only be one fruitful strategy to be utilized: settle up against him, contain him, and then stab him until such time that he is dead.

Yeah pretty much. This is my first experience playing next to him in a normal game, and it's made me think that I'm not sure I'd sign up in the next game he's in if he always plays like this. I mean, I don't see any real attempt by him to try to win this game. His only goal is to beat the guy next to him, which in a Pitboss is good enough to net you about 5th place.
