Hmm, I fear I am in deep shit. Open the turn to:
And scout for:
After a LONG introspection, I decide to buy a galley:
This is decidely suboptimal. Why do I do this? I do not need a dow by Chevalier, it will probably trigger a dow by Emperor K.
Reinforcements are 5 turns away, and I am not a 100% sure the town could hold with just a warrior and a slinger (upgrade) to archer.
As Emperor K power has spiked to just above mine as well, I decide to forego 2 more workers and start 2 quadriremes (5 and 6 turns).
My yields are insanely high and even waiting for 1 turn for the buy, I pull the trigger now. Chevalier might wisen up. 2 exploring galleys are recalled and I got a...
... a very bad feeling about this. I might get double dowed next turn.

Yes! DoF with Chevalier, the bought galley although it ruins 2-3 earlier chops in my core prevents a 2front war. Emperor K is close in milpower but will see the DoF and think twice about attacking me. I will try to finish my builders before getting 2 quadriremes out.
I am hurting for money from now on, which is BAD. But I think buying that galley was the right call. We will see after the game.
I may also loose Hypatia to a project by Emperor K, but if he runs one he is not building military or infrastructure. With the current situation, I think Chev is no threat anymore in 30 turns and Emperor K is our main issue.
Also next turn we have great news. We contact the last remaining player.
Also Mohenjo Daro my favourite CS from PBEM # 4 returns.
Also we found Arabia.
Also I can finally switch from 1f/1p to a 3 gold/2culture route to Vilnius, so I might escort them with a galley.
Up to 20 culture, yay.

My Spidey sense was right. 240 milpower on England. The DoF with Chevalier may save my ass. The english fleet is here in force. 5 triremes alltogether, more may come. 4 turns till 2 quadriremes and 1 trireme is done, also 2-3 triremes may return in time from my exploration.
Either Emperor K knows exactly that my fleet is off to explore, or he is desperate. Screenies this evening.
Buckle up everyone, this is gonna be wild.

Screenies of the center
Quadriremes coming too late.
Preventative Oligarchy.
Meeting all and America, no time for analysis.
Emperor K is coming. I may loose a city. Situation at the start of the turn.

Important is to block the 3 middle galleys with my own galley as long as possible.
Also only one archer upgrade is possible. 3 turns till a worker pops out and may chop a wall. This is hairy shit.

Oh my, Emperor K, you should already attack, you just wasted a turn.
Using slingers to block south and the trireme to block north to gain time.
3 more turns and no lost city is all I need.

I am kinda confused atm. Emperor K must recognize that the key is to break through asap. Every turn wasted is a catastrophy..
Am I missing something here?
Quadriremes are important to defend Alwille longterm, there must be more units coming then one measly warrior, no?
Also notice the impressive 20 science by America.

What the?
Still now dow.
Emperor totally squanders the element of suprise.
My fleet arrive back in 5 (1 trireme) and 6 turns (2 triremes).
In 1 turn I chop another trireme and build 2 quadriremes in 1 and 2 turns with another trireme in 2.
And the southern city sees another warrior. Which means a double strike to kill a slinger or the city, but why was the trireme move out of attack range. I mean. Seriously??
I am not afraid of a GA for quadriremes that are coming. I will strike first soon.
And I need to defend only.
So, I upgrade an archer and do not buy the stone next turn for a panic chop up there. I want to try to protect my southern city, Alville.
Either I am blind, or Emperor K is screwing this up. My cities should already be burning.
Shame that he does not seem to post at all, I would have loved to read what his thoughts were after the game.
