Or wait for Commodore to move like this... alright

(Added: I should avoid too much commentary on this game as I'm spoilt. But it is fair to say that in general Commodore plays quite a high stakes game, while the players in this team are characterised more by their reliability. I put the screenshot above up because things can cut both ways. And if you followed PBEM31 closely, you'll know that once the dice had gone against Commodore, their entire game just collapsed in embarrassed heap. In short - rather than getting depressed, try to think about how to manage, or even exploit, the extra variability.)

Timski, I think that was the moment where Commodore snapped, and the quiet, builder Commodore was killed by the aggressive, bloodthirsty Commodore. Since we're on a LotR nerd-out, it's not unlike this:

Turn 78 is played

We chopped into a settler, after deciding that we should just finish the thing before going mass military.

I did a little bit of tile swapping, taking advantage of the 4h overflow from the completed impi to let us work the cottage a bit and give the pig to InNOut (so we're not working any unimproved tiles). Next turn LJS takes the pigs back for 16f+h/t and we finish teh settler in 3 turns still.

If love is, as they say, is a battlefield, then Commodore must be our soulmate:

And power: love that drop, but he's got more than us still

I really need to bust this myth that Commodorian aggression is a recent change. He has always played like this. He planted a ridiculous pink dot across the ocean with no workers within a 4000-mile radius in 24, engaged in ancient/classical era wars in 19, 24, and 26, not to mention his later games.

Someone give me our civ password so I can log in and take a screenshot of the minimap without it being blocked by the trade window. Goddammit.

It's a fun myth, even if it is a myth smile
