Are you, in fact, a pregnant lady who lives in the apartment next door to Superdeath's parents? - Commodore

Nothing like the Prodigal Sons: The Odd Couple actually play as themselves.

Boldly, you say that about all of your games lol

I feel like I get shit on in every game. Well, just the recent games. I really enjoyed the PBEMs.

This at least would delay him getting his SAs online. The only advantage that I see currently in this horseshit setup is we can win a hammer differential by invading him and picking defensive cover. He can play the waiting game (better teching traits), has a food advantage (fucking capital), and his UB is perfect for whipping that extra food advantage.

The forge wins the efficiency game over the SA because it isn't consuming more food for more hammers, it just makes more hammers after the investment (which we get at discount). If we can pillage his food, we can nullify his advantage here. This means HAs. Make him make defensive choices, delay worker movements, generally screw with him and hope he makes a mistake.

I think we have to plan to get aggressive. The longer we wait, the more advantage he gains. God, I hate this game.

Yeah, the more I think about this, the more I agree with you. The only way we could have won a long game was if he was incompetent. He isn't. We need to force the issue.

Unfortunately, I still struggle to find a good way to force the issue.

The other option is that we can just build up and play defense to thwart Gavagai's inevitable crushing win (if we do not attack soon) so that we finish higher on the scoreboard once everyone realizes that seven won this game when he killed retep.

Yeah, I don't give a rat's ass where I finish on the scoreboard. There's a winner and 11 losers in this game and that's Seven and the rest of us. The mini-game is vs. Gavagai. Unfortunately, I logged in at the beginning of the turn to check the landscape and Gavagai can get Math in 3t at burn. He swapped to saving gold after I logged out, but I mean, yeah, we're not catching him. So we decided on HBR. Ultimately, I'd rather fail putting some pressure on him than survive until he comes at us with whatever. This also means most likely that if we got lucky and got the Engy, we'd rush Mids and go Police State. And I guess a Prophet gets burned on the worst GA ever because we don't want to give Gavagai a free shrine.

I read the whole thread. Awesome stuff! I'm sad but understand the events made your spark for this game disappear.

If you want view count, how about actually making that tier list of RB assholes I've seen in someone's sig? lol I'd rank the tiers by how bad people get at their very worst when full-on raging.

Well, you can't really make a tier list of assholes because there is more than one axis of assholeness. For instance, I consider myself to be an asshole because I generally don't feel sympathy for anyone. (Krill shares this trait.) On the other hand, I have great disdain for Commodore because he is a dick in that he never admits his mistakes and instead blames everyone else for his troubles. Some people would call him an asshole for that, but I define it differently. And what of the Lord Parkin behavior of blatant disregard and abuse of the rules? And by your post, you indicate that you consider raging to be an asshole, whereas frankly I don't care at all and actually admire honestly. In fact, I think those who insist that people should self-censor are the despicable ones. So how does one measure?

Basically, whoever you disagree with is an asshole? Traffic corollary: Everyone else in traffic is an asshole, regardless of circumstances. smile

I would love to see an asshole ranking, if for no other reason than to see how high I place mischief

WARNING: The following post is going to be somewhat politically incorrect, irreverent and uses inappropriate language. I have spoilered it for anyone who prefers to avoid such frivolities.

I used to play a little activity at work with some of the other guys there involving determining which derogatory term best described each guy who worked there. We used the following terms:

Dick - Used to describe someone who is obnoxious and aggressive, just for the sake of being so.
Prick - Aggressive, often mean for the sake of it.
Bitch - Someone who gets upset easily, generally speaking a bit of a drama queen
Asshole - Someone who is just overly nasty.
Douche - Someone who is obnoxious and generally obtuse.
Pussy - Someone who avoids conflict at all cost.

I should state we put absolutely everyone in one of the categories. Women get a different scale, which I won't define here since there are so few women at RB that it isn't worth discussing.

There's a lot of overlap there, and the definitions aren't precisely correct. Its a tonal thing to separate them. For example, I'd call Noble a dick, Bob an asshole, me a prick.
