[PB61 Spoilers] JesseL's First PB Game

You are playing without barbarian ships (and cities) and for the trade routes you need open borders from writing.

Well that helps. I meant internal trade routes.

Why the monument in the capital? Do you need the charismatic happiness immediately, is there some particular tile configuration that the 1 additional working pop would let you achieve?
Surprise! Turns out I'm a girl!

I like reaching my max pop before I start mass producing settlers. I should be able to work all my resource tiles with the rest of the pop on mines and hills.

The first barbarian sighted. My capital will 4 turn a settler and settle to the east. The borders of my capital will expand in 4 turns and my extra workboat is nearby so the new city can work the improved seafood immediately. Horses have been sighted to the southwest.

Rome discovered. My next settler is finishing in 2 turns and will be settled to the west.

City 3 founded, the next settler is going southwest to make sure I get that spot before India. Bronze working is being researched next, then masonry, writing, and iron working. So far the only barbarians have been 1 warrior and my archers dealt with that easily.

Power graphs. Both of my opponents have bronze working and I do not yet.

Rome is about to settle a city site I was going to settle. I sent Rome a demand for their only copper. Hopefully they will understand that settling there means war. I have 2 archers that can attack the axeman in 2 turns. Not sure if it is enough, but hopefully Rome will back off.
