RB Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Peter of Byzantium

I thought that it would require "Complete kills on" (or a copy of Civ 3!) to be safe if we just have a settler (but no city). Anyone know for sure if that's right?

That is right I believe. I guess it would be a better idea to not take the risk of leaving only three archers then.

I am also worried about this. That is why I sent that letter off to the Ottomans to start the peace negotiations.

We can slip in an archer, but not without delaying our settling date, and obviously every turn that goes along, the risk they show up with axes / swords increases. Obviously they can produce units faster than us!

And we'll be naming our ship "The Ark" (but not while they can see it lol)

Any chance of a quick warrior to explore the new land just after settler or after galley ?
Or a meeting point with your exploring warrior (somewhere west out of the charriot line of sight...

I don't think that we can afford to delay the settling of Ararat by even one turn. Once that city is down, we have WAY more of a bargaining position. With just the one city, they can always eliminate us. Eliminating us is very important. If we are allowed to hang around, then they always have to worry about us (subject to any peace proposals they come up with)

Once they know they can't eliminate us (easily) due to us having a city they either can't reach or can't reach easily, we're in a much better position.

We might be able to get the woody warrior back in place, but we only have 2-3 turns of The Ark's use before it needs to be ready for Noah.

Here's a late suggestion for the name of your galley:

You just need one of those speech to text programs to get the spelling right. smile

Well, there's one small thing you can do for us: keep an eye on the phalanx/settler pair near your healing Woody II warrior Spiros. We have our own units in the area, but it never hurts to have an extra pair of eyes! We're not quite sure where Jowy stands with us; we'd prefer to be on friendly grounds - at least for now - but he's been kind of erratic lately.

As far as your end of things, did the Oracle reveal iron that you could possibly hook up? We unfortunately don't have map info on the combat zone. We'll continue to do our best to defog a sea route for possible resource exchange.

Good news: There is iron 1E of our capital!

Bad news: There are 5 ottoman chariots choking our capital, including one on the iron :-(

This is one thing I find absolutly amusing. You are citing Sulla/Speaker who at the moment is the absolut top-team about Balance of Power :-)

In my experience when ever the top-power talks about 'Balance of Power' they usually mean 'I want you to spent resources so that noone can balance our power'.
Of course Sulla/Speaker are only after Balance of Power and not because long ongoing struggle betweeen you, Jowy and Ottomans would allow them to peacefully gobble up any land in reach rolleye

Don't let your anger over your own (greedy) move spoil your perception of the situation. The current misery you are in is your own working and not the fault of others. For sure it is not the fault of Jowy.
