Politics Discussion Thread (Heated Arguing Warning)

The present migrant crisis was caused by war. Whatever one's opinion of immigration otherwise, in this circumstance, shouldn't compassion incline one to accept a greater number of immigrants than normal?

Sweden has long been different from the rest of Scandinavia, they have the strongest belief in the state as the supreme arbiter of, hmm well everything. They call their wellfare state the Peoples Home and a broad polical spectrum has wished to extend those wellfare rights globaly, the present government wants to grant full rights to anyone setting foot on Swedish soil. The city hall of Stockholm, Swedens capitol, just voted to give all migrants including migrants refused refugee status/asylum rights full and free health care + dental care. These are rights not given to Swedish citizens. The Swedish system at present cannot handle the sheer volume of migration.

Many forget that it is not simply a question of economics. Taxes can be raised, state and council loans taken out. The problem is that there is no housing available (and strang state laws on building regulation), there healthcare system needs doctors and nurses, dentists, social worker, police officers, school teachers. There is no untapped reserve of such workers, and the migrants are not educated to step in.

You will find people all over Scandinavia claiming it the nations belong to their citizens, but they number in the 10-20% range. More and more people are starting to realise however that present lvls of migration, not to speak of the volume waiting to migrate, cannot be sustained without the collapse of the wellfare states. If queen Margrethe took her final form tomorrow and spawned the 250.000 Danish/French hybrid larvae she has been hosting, bred for fast maturity the wellfare state would be equally unable to stand. After one generational cycle of chainsmoking, twotiming, hairylegged hybrid breeding the state itself would collapse.

Today I recieved a letter from the hospital. My GP refered me to a specialist after my allergies have taken a turn to the (very) worse, sickdays and lower productivity despite heavy medication.

The letter says: You have right to an examination within 30days of your referral. Unfortunately we cannot keep this time limit, but you do have the right of a treatment schedule and this letter confirming your booking is the first step of the schedule.
Referral 4th of October - date at the clinic 12th of June.
My meeting with the bank - monday morning. After that quickest private specialist who can take me.

Some years back the government noted that the populace was unsattisfied with the lvl of public healtcare. They set into law a guarantee of a max waiting period of 30 days from diagnosis to start of treatment. They did not fund this new law...
This is the present lvl of wellfare in Denmark, and I praise Gods and Prophets, big and small that I dont live in Sweden.

I have Alabama at tilt D*. LOL.

*There's been three polls sense it happened. Two of them have Jones leading but they are very suspect--one of them is from the hostile to Moore RNC and the other one shows Moore doing better than Strange in a head-to-head matchup against Jones. The other one shows Moore in the lead and I don't see anything wrong with it. Two BS polls=One okay poll and average them out and you get toss-up. But I have to give the edge to Jones because an extremely similar situation Todd Akin did worse and worse as time went on.

Now PredictIt is at 60-40 Moore. He's obviously guilty too--it's not just the women it's the people they told long ago so you would have a conspiracy of over 50 people if Moore isn't a dirty liar. LOL. If he wins here the GOP is still screwed in 2024 because of demographics and his victory will wiped out but that really doesn't matter. All victories are temporary anyway and it would ruin it for everyone else too (it's already ruined for the GOP)--if the USA is a real democracy then the GOP would believe in their base. If you hate a group so much that you would let Moore win then the GOP would personally hate the DEMs. Politics would be about destroying the other team like a 3rd world country. Because that is not going to happen the USA wouldn't be a real democracy and everyone loses.

Moore is at 2/3 at PredictIt.

DEMs have hampered themselves, by Al Franken getting busted and the fact they choose a Pro-Choice candidate, but that's not enough to change my opinion about things.

It's was now 3/4th before Trump endorsed him.

GOP people say that he's not guilty but only because they don't want to admit the truth. It's so obvious.

People are going to attack Trump for endorsing Moore but it's too late to go back. He can just run again and there's no chance of some other GOP beating him in the primary because he's the "real" incumbent and a write-in campaign would fail because they would look like sore losers. The DEMs would have no chance because if there's another election the Alabama governor would put it in the November 2018 elections and the candidate would not be able to avoid nationalizing the election. The only way he could lose is if the DEMs support a Pro-Life candidate enthusiastically but they would rather just concede the seat, especially considering it would hurt the GOP brand. That would be fine but the problem is that they would act in such a way that they believe they could take out Moore.

Edit: They could expel Moore and call out the DEMs when they tank but that would cause even more bad blood and salt than just not expelling. It would be pointless.

Edit 2: It's pretty obvious Al Franken will resign. A plan would be to vote expel Moore than call out DEMs for being dirty liars when they pick a Pro-Choice candidate again and say they are trying to win the seat. They don't want to win the seat. It would say that being Pro-Life is okay, fall again to the GOP in two years anyway and losing would help them too--not worth the price. If the DEMs say that picking someone Pro-Choice is the best they could do I would counter it with this: If being Pro-Life is unacceptable (which refusing to pick a Pro-Life candidate would say) then the GOP is unacceptable because the GOP is overwhelming Pro-Life. They would treat the GOP the same way they treat Roy Moore. This doesn't happen...

Still at 75-25. The last days are always chaotic enough that I really won't be able to give more updates until it's over.

I'm sure the GOP will just allow Moore to hang around like an albatross around their necks instead of my plan of attacking the DEMs when they deliberately tank. Pundits are going to call this a pyrrhic victory because Moore will hamper the GOP but it isn't really. The GOP is going to have their face smashed in at 2024 anyway and a win here would prove that the system shouldn't have been able to continue past Regan if the USA is a real democracy.

As soon as you can get into a situation were 51% doesn't win it's not a "pure" democracy. Supreme court is a better example of that. What I'm saying is that the system is not legit.

Edit: To be more clear there are varying levels of democracy and some impurity is okay but this would be far too much. If Roy Moore wins it would show that the GOP doesn't represent their base. They wouldn't even represent anyone.
