Naturalize isn't exactly the worst card but it is in the tier of cards like Shieldbearer that you never want to draft.

Yeah, I'm surprised there aren't more paladins in the arena, by far the most robust class of the one's I've tried.
Regarding insane hunter combos — I was just forced to draft a hunter in a choice between him, warlock (don't know anything about this class) and mage (yawn), and easily got three Hyenas, two Hounds, a Buzzard, a Snake Trap and a Houndmaster. Given how the deck was turning out, picked up a Timber Wolf (played as a mini-Savage Roar) and two Tracking to get to the good stuff. Wolf, Hyena, Hounds must be the most efficient way in the game to deal ~6 damage and get an 8/5 creature on the board, all for five mana. Technically a 9/5 creature, but I treat the wolf as a suicide. And if someone was fool enough to have four minions on the board... Well.

I see a lot of paladins in the arena, mage/paladin/shaman are the most popular choices. For good reason as far as I can tell, they have great spells. If I don't get them I will probably try hunter for myself.
And then I finally drafted flamestrikes (2), blizzard (1) and fireballs (3) as mage, for a second consecutive 12-2 arena. Two twilight drakes performed well when I was the second player. Mage also feels very strong if you get the spells, the losses were close. Apparently both my luck and skill have improved.

One reason Paladin and Mage are good in Arena is that they both are loaded with quality 4-mana class cards. And having a good curve is so important and you typically want more 4-mana cards than anything else. Drafting tons of either Water Ele/Fireball/Poly or Truesilver/Consecrate is just so strong.

In my limited experience, Mage is far and away the most popular class, paladin is probably second, but not a close one, and hunter/shaman are close thirds. It's too bad the game doesn't provide better statistical tracking and logs, especially as it has such a great in-match log.

Personally I feel Paladin is the 4th best class, after Mage/Shaman/Druid, I've never been particularly impressed by their 4 mana power cards, but they're still plenty potent enough to be a good class. Mage and Paladin are far and away the most popular two classes picked, though. (My winrate with Mage/Druid is higher than my winrate with Shaman/Paladin, which is tied. But I lose more games to Shamans than any of the other three and I beat Druids a LOT more than any of the other 3.)

Another interesting arena deck: bounce paladin. I picked up youthful and ancient brewmasters early so drafted this:
1 - blessing of might, argent squire
2 - equality, amani berserker, argent protector, ironbeak owl, loot hoarder, youthful brewmaster x2
3 - earthen ring farseer x2, ironfur grizzly, mindcontrol tech, scarlet crusader
4 - truesilver champion, consecration x2, hammer of wrath, ancient brewmaster, defender of argus, mogushan warden, ogre magi, silvermoon guardian
5 - booty bay bodyguard, spiteful smith, nightblade, stormpike commando
6 - sunwalker
7 - guardian of kings, stormwind champion
3 bounces and 12 battlecries, pretty fun. I'd probably have gone for more creatures with better stats if I could, but there simply weren't any Ogres and the like available.

Pretty nice lookin' Deck there aside from the Mogu'shan Warden, maybe slightly low on late game but it sounds like there just plain wasn't any good ones available. Should do well!

5-3 with that. One loss to hunter after a bad draw. You're right about being low on the late game, the deck had trouble with druids, ran into four. Two close wins from all the trickery and two losses that were not close at all.

5-3 pretty good though, how were the rewards?
