We don't need to do anything to turn this to our advantage. It's already great. There is no need for us to betray either of these guys in any way, no matter how small. Just wish them both good luck and try to get them to tell us what's going on as much as possible.
The one possible bad outcome to avoid here is that they sign a peace treaty and then one or both come after us. So let's make sure we have short-term NAPs with both teams. Easy enough to set up if we don't have them; offer them 20t of guaranteed peace as a gesture of non-interference with their war.
I agree with this fully. No need to pick sides. Just stay neutral and use it to our advantage and keep expanding. If we don't have NAPs yet, could also use it to get those now.

By that post WW3 could be explained by:
Their unit attacks your unit =+2
Your unit is captured=+2
Each turn =-1
=3
Rival average soldier points in the demographics has indeed dropped by 2000 points!
mh
So your theory is:
1) Axe kills warrior guarding a worker or settler in neutral territory, and captures the worker.
2) Turn rolls.
By this theory (since the combat can't have happened in WPC lands right after they declared war, if WPC was the attacker), WPC should have 1 (attacking and winning) + 1 (capturing a unit) - 1 (turn rolled) = 1 WW. Is that the case?

Yes, I was guessing WPC unit killed a guarded settler/worker.
I think the -1 per turn is already included and is not credited only at turn roll. (Pure guessing here).
But, no, WPC has no WW shown. You are right, does not fit.
Hmm, might just be the WW mechanics work differently in BtS.

If the turn hasn't rolled then there can't be a -1 WW from that. I don't know when you think it would be credited, if not at turn roll.
3 WW and -2k power sounds an awful lot like someone attacked with a warrior in enemy territory (so no WW for the other player) and lost.
Are you sure it's the german team who has WW and not WPC?

I doubt the WW mechanics were changed.

I posted an F4 screenshot in the turn discussion thread - can we take the WPC v German discussion there?
BTW - I agree with Seven - neutral is the way to go for the moment.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

I think there's no need to advise the Germans on basic unit composition - at best it'll be redundant, and at worst they might find it a little insulting. Just let them be IMHO.

Thinking about it some more, I'm firmly in the camp that we will be the real winner of this war, and that the main thing here is to avoid making enemies. Trying to play both sides is a sure way to get enemies, if you are caught (like Imperio in the Apolyton demo game).
But securing a NAP with WPC should be a good thing right now.

No, it's the other way around.
Current values as shown under F4 Glance:
Column Sitting Bull
Ratio with RealmsBeyond: 0/20 (we have 20 EP against them)
Ratio with Flunky (Germans): 36/64
It it is the Germans who have an EP advantage here.
