[SPOILERS] Kaiser and TheArchduke are nice and friendly neighbours

After spending most of today with a breathing aid (due to being 6 weeks in advance) she is now already breathing fine on her own and everything is looking good. A weird end to a weird year but god prospects I hope.

My wife and my brother in law (and his wife xD) were freaking out when the water broke, but I was able to finish the turns while they were frenetically packing everything.

I will try to provide you a save next turn so you can have a look, I am trying to move my Settler S despite the Scout likely stepping onto the Marsh next turn. I believe it should then try to turn around where the Warrior can cut its way off by stepping onto the hill. I would have preferred the tile E of the M for the Settler, but was worried of the Scout conquering the Settler there.
At least we now know that there is a 3rd camp somewhere to the E, I switched ti finish a Slinger first to defend the small landbridge and get the Archery inspiration. I also expect the Scout we left in the N to come down so the Builder would have to juggle around to many barbs here.

TAD and me are both running Urban Planning as there are no important pantheons aside from a potential Goddess of the River for Japan, which is far away as my current tendency is to go for Campus first instead.

Everything running smoothly at TAD, I decided to begin moving the Warrior down already for scouting out city 3 some more. There is only one tile a barb camp could spawn forcing us to bring the Warrior back up which I believe unlikely due to confirmed 2 barb camps near Japan

The Scout avoidedd our Warrior and went E instead, sadly this delays our settler by one turn minimum, as he has to use the stone -> Marsh ->hill way now. At least we now know of two additional freshwater locations.
- Northern wastes
- one to the South which looks better than the Northern wastes but not good yet
- E bay (barely any knowledge)

No big international news this turn, I will have a detailed look later to guess at who has Settlers out like us and who hasn't

No bad barb camp spawns, TAD city#2 is on track, the nearby Volcano became active

both barb Scouts vanished without getting close to TB, I decided to heal the Warrior for the inevitable Spearman somewhere down S while the Settler catches up. We have to settle S without knowing its quality. Going E would delay to much due to us needing the Warrior as well as protection and going N is out of question.

International news:
Llubljana (phoenicia) finished his 2nd tech, it has to have been boosted, so likely Sailing

I doubt that Llubljana, Woden or Suboptimal have Settlers out (all size 3)
CMF and MPTF have been building something on size 1 (delaying growth) so they likely finished it and are about to get their settlers oput right about now

Settling ETA 2 turns, 2nd city location will be scouted in 2 turns as well

Found the barb scout and moved the Warrior to avoid him further delaying the settling. He can still do it by running around the mountain and placing himself across the river. I hope he goes in direction of Tibbet's brook instead.

Settling ETA 3 turns, this spot looks poor as well but at least it has food to support city growth. The Grassland in the N is probably only worth it for districts, but going GP at the market location gives us 2 good Campus spots and can be combined nicely with 2 HS on rivers if the pantheon is still there.
Let us hope that there are at least some decent tiles in the fog, we still do not see the Barb camp, so there has to be some tiles available.

International news:
China and Indonesia got their 2nd tech, so likely a boosted tech as well (Sailing I guess) alternatively another 1st rank tech (the same is true for Phoenicia last turn btw)
Russia cleared another barb camp (2 era score increase)

Settling next turn, do you want to do that or will you be back only on Monday?
There is a scientific City state down South. We could consider swapping cities for Englands free units, however I am not convinced that this will be the right play and your city sites are clearly better.

as you can see. It is better than the wasteland in the N though. The scout is cornered and will not get to the Encampment, our Warrior can clean that up easily in ~5-7 turns.

The Volcano in the N waste activated, maybe that spot will get good at some point

International news:
Russia/CMF finished his 2nd tech (Sailing or 1st rank) and build a Settler. Curious that he dropped, this might actually be his 2nd Settler already because he would have had a very bad food start to not have been above 15 population

I am waiting your turn out today, as you said you will be bakck on the 3rd and I prefer clicking the settle city button personally myself.
You can settle your city yourself.

We should probably discuss shortly if/when we want to switch cities, as England actually has a benefit. England gets 1 free melee unit (currently a Warrior) and a trade route (wait, that is actually decent) in the 1st city on a new continent.
We can either now or at a later point consider this to swap a city for you to get the trade route and unit. I am quite confident that we do not exert loyality pressure on each other, but I am less confident that we give loyality support.

Swapping now would have the benefit that we settle the cities at a similar time, so low downside for us (basically one turn for you).
It has the downside that the Melee unit will be a Warrior though and our respective cities would be far away from each other.

Back in business.

On city swapping, this was discussed and banned in PBEM 7. I think it would go against the spirit of RB.

Hattusa has been met, not good at all. Or more interesting.

Kaiser we should take some time and discuss things again.

Ah, I thought there was discussion that cities could be swapped on turn of founding/concession (as these are the first turns this option is available)
Edit: quick check in the orga thread is that only captured cities might be traded and only at 1st opportunity. @Lurkers, please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

That means I should leave you a spot on my continent ;D

Has it? How do you know?
Remember that there are no first to meet envoys in a Team game.

Settling next turn, my city is about half as good as TADs 2nd city.
Mostly because it lacks long term production and but also because it lacks critical 1 Icon_Culture and 1 Icon_Food in short term as well as a 3rd 2Icon_Food2Icon_Production tile without the need for improvement. At least it has a Pyramids spot I guess

In this screen are only we two as civs listed, I remember I checked this in team games with my wife and unknown CIVs would have had a unknown symbol here, so I believe we are actually first to meet Hattusa.

TAD gets mysticism in 9 turns thanks to his Monument, I will get the inspiration from him and should be following 1-2 turns later. We can then both send an envoy to Hattusa for the valuable Icon_Science in case we do not find a Icon_Culture CS which might be better for me at least.

International news:
- Indonesia has a Settler out
- Vikings finished their 2nd tech (Sailing or 1st rank, there is an off chance that this is Masonry or Wheel but that would surprise me greatly)
