novice Wrote:Darrell teched Fiber Optics last turn and will tech Fission->Fusion next. If he can do that in 3 turns he'll beat us. I don't know how many beakers he's accumulated into Fission but I fear that is doable for him, at least if he supplements it with a bulb.
As for us, I *think* we can finish Fission next turn, Fiber Optics the turn after (that is the questionable one really, but thinking about it we can make sure by using one bulb on it), and then Fusion on t165, aided by the remaining scientist bulbs (we have 4 in total).
Okay it's a little tricky to figure out what turn darrell is on in his thread, but I think darrell is going to win the Fusion race.
Novice wrote that on his T162 (after darrell played T162). So from darrell's thread, he has Fission already mostly researched, so he should get that on his T163, and then he only needs like 4000 extra beakers onto Fusion, which should be easily doable in 2t, researching Fusion on his T165 (winning the race by turn order)
Now to see if he spends both engineers on a TGD that nospace isn't even contesting

Props to Oledavy for going down swinging. Looks like his attack will come too late, but I like his mentality.

Considering the leaders are defending their capitals with warriors, I could see a Commando tank doing alot of damage. Keep their land scouted with airships, capture the weakest city, unload Commando tank and burn their capital a la PBEM19. If done on both at the same time, it could completely turn the game around.

If anyone gets their capital razed by a commando after launching their spaceship after what happened in PB1 I don't know what to say.

I never read PB1 since it was tech trading and gigantic and PB3 seemed like enough of that. So if that happens to someone I'd guess they just didn't read that game. It's not so implausible. Doesn't seem like either player here would fall for it though. I dunno.

Yeah, I mean someone who's familiar with PB1. And it's not like they won't have warning, Dave said he'll have to cancel NAPs ahead of time and whatnot.

I didn't read PB1 for pretty much the same reason. But rego's capital getting razed is the stuff of RB legend - I've read at least that much. I can't imagine that either Darrell or novice would be unfamiliar with it or the regoarrarr disappointment scale.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Yes I'm sure they're both familiar with it. But if he is getting Industrialism in 8t, and has 10t more of NAP, it seems like it will indeed be too late.

I wonder if he'll convert those Dike hammers into Research to cut his research times down...
